Coach Mike was able to reel in 4 recruits this season. None came during the regular season so he had to work hard in the offseason to get some players on campus. The Class is lead by 3* Damien Iti from Austraila, for the rest of the class coach stayed within Louisiana and Texas. Each player should make an impact on the season early. Also with this additions there could be some position changes coming for those already on campus to fill holes that maybe needed.

Who is the Best Conference in America the ACC or Big East? Only time will tell will the teams in each conference eat each other alive or will a couple teams take control and run through the opposition?
Can Syracuse repeat as Champs? What about Kentucky? Can they run the table as the preseason Number 1?

Re: Coach Legacy of Big Mike (CH 2k8)

The Southwestern Athletic Conference saw a battle of 3 teams last season Grambling State, Jackson State and Texas Southern. Grambling was able to win the regular season Title and Conference Tournament to earn the schools first NCAA Tournament berth. Will these same 3 teams battle it out for the crown again or will a new team emerge as Champs? Can Grambling repeat their performance?
Let's take a look at some of the SWAC's best players:

Re: Coach Legacy of Big Mike (CH 2k8)

Reporter: We are here with Coach Mike to discuss the upcoming basketball season for our Grambling Tigers. Coach how are you feeling heading into your second season as the Head Coach at Grambling?

Coach: I'm feeling good. Ready to get this season started.

Reporter: What will the roster look like this year after bringing in your first ever recruiting class?

Coach: Some things have changed but Brown is still the leader of this team. What we were able to do in recruiting was bring in some more playmakers to put around him as well as add more quality depth to our bench.

Reporter: Have their been any changes to the starting line-up?

Coach: Yes, We have 2 true freshman starting. Damien Iti will be our starting Center, while Dreike Costello will be our starting Power Forward. There could be times when I start Windale Glinton at Power Forward to give us a 6'10 and 6'11 guy down low at the same time.

Reporter: We just had our Tiger Madness game. What are you takeaways from that scrimmage?

Coach: The biggest thing I saw was our teams scoring ability from the inside and out. Iti had double digit boards, Costello double digit points so the freshman are ready to play. Brown and Shine are still shooting lights out. Up and down the roster everyone has improved.

Reporter: How is your team feeling about having the target on the back this season?

Coach: They are welcoming all challengers. They feel they are the best team in the SWAC and are ready to go out and prove it.

Reporter: Your schedule this season has a lot more quality teams on it this year care to talk about it.

Coach: Well, I talked with the AD and told him if we want to be ready for the NCAA Tournament we needed to beef up the schedule. We will be playing in the 2K Sports College Hoops Classic C bracket to start the season. We will be traveling to Hawaii to play in the Hawaiian Invitational as well. As far as other Non-Conference teams we will travel to UL-Lafayette, LSU, Miami(FL), Texas Tech and San Francisco. We will host Bethune-Cookman, Tulane and Northwestern St.

Reporter: Wow, those could be some big time wins there. I see there is a lot of Louisiana teams on the schedule as well.

Coach: Yes, there is we want to play the best in the state to compare ourselves. It also gives us a chance to show the best recruits in the state more about our program and gives them a chance to come out and see us play.

Reporter: Speaking of recruiting how many scholly's do you have this season?

Coach: We only have 3 so will have to pick wisely but we will hopefully take at least 2 Guards.

Reporter: Thanks for your time coach and good luck this season.

Coach: Anytime, Let's go G-Men
