Lakers fall to the Rockets on opening night, 102-97
By simulationsports.net
Posted Oct. 28, 2014

The Good: James Harden. The Beard was feeling it on opening night as he picked apart the Los Angeles Lakers defense with ease. In 41 minutes, Harden scored a game high 32 points to go along with 9 rebounds, 6 assist, and a career high 4 blocked shots. Harden only shot 9-of-25 from the field, but he did go 12-of-14 from the charity stripe in the win.

The Bad: Carlos Boozer. The Lakers biggest free agent pick up in name value laid a dud in his first game in the purple and gold. Boozer only shot 4-of-10 from the field with 10 points and 5 rebounds. But his defensive effort was the most pathetic display ever seen. Boozer allowed the Rockets to just stroll right past him all game long.

X-Factor: Dwight Howard. Dwight Howard did what Dwight Howard usually does. Howard opened up the season with a double-double finishing with 20 points and 11 rebounds on 9-of-13 shooting in just 29 minutes of action. Foul trouble forced Howard in the minutes restriction, but he made an impact during the time he was on the court.

Rookie Watch: Jordan Clarkson. The Lakers 2nd round pick had a nice debut as he totaled 19 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assist, 3 steals, and 5 blocked shots as he filled up the stat sheet in a monster way against the Rockets. The rookie point guard went 8-of-15 from the field in the losing effort.

Injury Note: Rookie Julius Randle was helped off the court after suffering a broken leg late in the 1st quarter.

Up Next: Phoenix Suns

Bledsoe shines as Suns top Lakers
By simulationsports.net
Posted Nov. 4, 2014

The Good: Eric Bledsoe. Eric Bledsoe was given the key to the franchise after the Suns shipped Goran Dragic to the Miami Heat, and Bledsoe is making the Suns front office look very smart. Bledsoe did a little of everything against the Lakers has he finished with 22 points, 5 rebounds, 11 assist, and 2 steals in 39 minutes of action.

The Bad: Wes Johnson. The Lakers starting small forward had a horrible and I mean a horrible outing against the Suns. Johnson went a boggling 1-of-12 from the field while also going 0-of-5 from three as he finished with 2 points in 33 minutes.

X-Factor: Gerald Green. Gerald Green was a big time spark plug off the bench for Phoenix in their 107-98 win. Green came off the bench and poured in 20 points to go along with 6 rebounds, 2 assist, 3 steals, and 2 blocked shots on 6-of-13 shooting including going 5-of-10 from behind the arc.

Rookie Watch: Jordan Clarkson. Jordan Clarkson put in a career high 26 points in the loss to the Suns. Clarkson went an impressive 11-of-19 from the field while pulling down 3 rebounds and handing out 4 assist as he led the Lakers in scoring.

Injury Note: No injuries reported.
