The Mailman vs The King. Who would deliver??

nov 5 cle utah lineups.jpg

Well, not what we expected. A disappointing first half by the Utah Jazz. The Cavs entered halftime on a 21-4 run, despite Lebron James 7 points and shooting 29% from the field. The Cavs said Karl Malone will have to try to beat us, but it was too much for the Mailman. Kyrie Irving led the Cavs in points once again. Mozgov dominated the inside, Cavs beat Jazz 126-88

Chippy game here indeed. We'll fast forward to the start of the third quarter with David Robinson already having earned himself a flagarent foul. The game all the way close up until this point and Otis Thorpe goes up for a layup and 'The Admiral' goes up for the ball but Thorpe lands hard on the floor, the ref call a flagarent foul on Robinson again. David Robinson was not happy and had to be held back by coach Pop.

Shortly thereafter, the Spurs would finally take a lead at 55-54 with 8 minutes left in the third quarter. A young Tim Duncan would keep the Spurs in the game, absolutely dominating Otis Thorpe. The Rockets would regain the lead. The Rockets and Hakeem Olajuwon would start picking on Duncan and Will Purdue in the 4th quarter, going straight at Duncan, who would get his 3 foul called in the second half. Rockets would lose the lead as Olajuwon did his all to bring the Rockets within one point.

With 4 minutes left to play, Jaren Jackson comes off the bench to give the Spurs a spark and 90-88 lead. Kenny Smith gives Houston a 2 point lead with 59 seconds left to play with a huge three pointer.

Almost certain the ball would be in Duncan's hand, Vinny Del Negro gets some open space and nails a 3 pointer with 23 seconds to play, 100-99 spurs lead. Back the other way we go, Olajuwon gets the ball down low, gives Purdue a move, the fadaway, and somehow misses, Spurs get the rebound.

After 2 hit free throws by Avery Johnson, Vernon Maxwell gets an open look at a three, when the Rockets only needed two, Del Negro races over, gets a hand in Maxwell's face and he misses. Spurs escape with the win, 102-99

Great back and forth game between these two teams in the first quarter, which saw 6 lead changes. The Bucks were down 6 in the second quarter but Joe Dumars was almost unguardable on offense. Luckily for the Bucks, they took a 58-53 halftime lead despite 20 points from Dumars.

The Bucks never looked back as the second half story was the second chance points, the Bucks outscored the pistons 13-2. Bucks win 116-105.

I was looking forward to this game right here. A lot of intriguing matchups.

nov 8 bos chi lineups.jpg

The Bulls got up by as much as 10 points against the Celtics, but Larry Bird kept the Bulls close. Boston down 8 with 3:30 left in the 4th quarter Bird was able to bring the Celtics back to within 3 points.

But Michael Jordan was Michael Jordan. An absolute takeover, especially with Danny Ainge guarding him, Jordan went to the fadaway time after time.

The Celtics would eventually tie the game with 41 seconds left to play at 105. But a couple of back to back turnovers by Boston, the Bulls were able to ice the game, Bulls win 112-108.

Re: Mixed My League 2K15

nov 9 den at por.jpg

What looked to be a low scoring first quarter, things just got sloppy for the Denver Nuggets. The Trailblazers went on a run and finished the first quarter with a 29-18 lead. Pretty much the same story through the halftime.

The Nuggets were able to cut the lead to 6 points with 3-1/2 minutes left in the third, this after Portland was up by as much as 16 points. Reggie Williams was leading the Nuggets charge in the third quarter.

To the 4th we go, Denver within 2 with about 5 minutes left after Reggie Williams hits a jumper just inside the three point line. As Williams is coming down, he looks to fall awkwardly on his right leg, he goes to the floor in pain and is forced to come out for the rest of the game.

Portland and Denver exchange blows and Abdul-Rauf finally gives the Nuggets the lead with 1:22 left to play. Right back come the Blazers as porter nails a three with good ball movement by the Blazers around the horn.

Laphonso Ellis would tie the game on two free throws, Blazers get the ball back, they get it to Duckworth down low, puts a move or two on Mutombo, spins and gets the basket and blazers lead.

Abdul Rauf goes back the other way, misses a three. Blazers go up four after the free throws. Rauf comes back down the court and hits a three! Nuggets down by one point. Clyde Drexler is fouled intentionally but he misses the two free throws, Denver out of timeouts, 5.4 seconds left, Rauf takes the ball, but Portland playing real tight defense, Rauf is only able to get the ball to half court, the shot and he misses. Portland escapes with a win at home, 112-111.

Porter really saved the Trailblazers with his performance. They could have easily lost that one.

He really did, but I also enjoyed watching the nuggets comeback and making a game out of it.
