Re: Canada's New Team-A Vancouver Ravens Story

Start of 2016-17 NBA Regular Season

With rosters, lineups, and pricinig now officially set it was time for the 2016-17 NBA season to officially get under way. The Vancouver Ravens first game of the regular season was scheduled for Oct. 28, 2016 and was against a very tough Memphis Grizzles team. Could Coach Blatt manage to get his team to play well enough in game one of the season to upset the Grizzles. The only good news for the Ravens was that this game was part of a four game home stand to open the season. The bad news is that that four game home stand included games against the Grizzles, Jazz, Rockets, and Pelicans, all four of whom could easily, at least on paper, be able to beat the Ravens.

For the Ravens first game for the season against the Grizzles the visiting Grizzles team come into tonight's game with a 1-1 record on the season and see an opponent who they should have no problem beating.

Re: Canada's New Team-A Vancouver Ravens Story

Game one's win over the Grizzles ended up being bittersweet for the Ravens as halfway through the third quarter starting PG Ty Lawson ended up being carried off the court with an injury after having posted 10pts, 5ast, and 3stl in the game. Following the game it was revealed that Lawson's injury was a broken right ankle and that he would miss anywhere from six to eight weeks. It was later announced by the team that Sergio Rodriquez would fill-in for the injured Lawson at starting point guard until Lawson was healthy and ready to return.

Sergio Rodriguez Shines as Ravens' Starting Point Guard Wins Player of the Game Award

Vancouver Ravens beat the Utah Jazz by a score of 99 to 104. Sergio Rodriguez shines in his first start at point guard for the Ravens, puts up 12pts, 1reb, 10ast, and 7stl, in route to player of the game award. Nikola Jokic puts up 14pts, 8reb, and 3ast. Trey Lyles puts up 11pts, 5reb, 3ast, and 2stl. Darrun Hilliard has himself another nice night and puts up 10pts, 5reb, 3ast, and 1stl. Rumors

Rumor going around the NBA that the Ravens are considering starting Trey Lyles at power forward and either moving Taj Gibson to the bench or simply just trade him. Also another rumor swirling that if the Ravens do decide to trade Taj Gibson rookie point guard Tyler Ulis might be part of a package deal on the Ravens end.

Re: Canada's New Team-A Vancouver Ravens Story

The 2-0 Ravens now face the 0-2 Houston Rockets in game three of the season. For the Ravens they look to improve to 3-0 and for the Rockets they come into this game looking for their first win of the season.

Ravens Win Fueled by Bigmen, Taj Gibson's Triple-Double

The Ravens managed to remain undefeated and to keep the Rockets winless to start off the season. The Ravens bigmen fuel them to victory. Nikola Jokic posts 21pts, 7reb, 1ast, and blk. Taj Gibson posts a triple-double putting up 14pts, 12reb, and 10ast. Trey Lyles posts 13pts, 7reb, 3ast, 1stl, and 1blk. Spencer Hawes posts 10pts, 6reb, 2ast, and 1blk. Sergio Rodriguez also once again shines in the starting role as he post 13pts, 3reb, 8ast, and 2stl. Jokic is starting to appear to be a potential franchise caliber starting center and both power fowards Gibson and Lyles make their bids to be the starter but for the time being Gibson will remain the Ravens' starting power forward. Tyler Ulis also finally had himself a decent game posting 7pts, 2reb, 4ast, and 1stl in tonight's win against the Rockets thus quieting potential trade rumors for the time being.

Re: Canada's New Team-A Vancouver Ravens Story

Trade Block Announcement

Ravens announce PG Ty Lawson, SF Nick Young, and Pf Taj Gibson have all been added to the trade block and that the team will listen to offers on those three players. For Lawson and Young both have to return from their injuries before being able to be traded. With the announcement of Lawson being put on the trade block it would seem that the Ravens are content to go forward with Sergio Rodriguez as the team's starting point guard. With the announcement of Gibson being put on the trade block it would seem that 20 year old Trey Lyles could eventually at some point in this season become the Ravens' starting power forward.
