The Results Are in You Guys Have Chosen A Logo

After a two day poll 50%, or 6, voted for the retro, Vancouver Grizzlies-influenced logo. Y'all chose that over the current logo (3 votes) and the completely original one (3 votes).

With this decision, the Grizzlies have rebranded for the new year and will show off their jerseys this Tuesday, January 3rd, against the Baltimore Barons. Additionally, the new court and seats will be shown.

After the NBA ruled that advertisements could go on NBA jerseys, Memphis has decided to jump on the idea and Supreme™ will be on their jerseys.

The promo video below presents the new arena, jerseys, logo, and more!

92.9FM ESPN - Your Radio Home For The Memphis Grizzlies

Weekly Updates Brought to You by Gary Parrish, Chris Vernon and Eric Hasseltine

Summary of San Antonio Game: (Vernon) Good Morning and welcome to 92.9 FM's radio show. This morning we only have myself and Parrish, Eric is unfortunately a little sick and we hope he comes back soon and gets well soon. Last night, the Grizzlies utilized both their veterans and newer guys. Gasol flirted with a triple-double scoring 24, grabbing 6 rebounds, and dishing out 8 assists. JaMychal had his second straight double-double with 24 points and 13 rebounds.

(Parrish) Something I found interesting was how the Spurs put Kawhi on Conley, but he was still able to score 21 points. Do keep in mind however, that it was on an unreliable 6 of 19 shooting from the field. He did have a +/- of 15 so he was doing some stuff right. Parsons had an all-around decent game. They played the 2-guard Danny Green on him and Tony Parker on Tony Allen. Fizdale had several situations where Parsons was being covered by Parker in the post and they would dish it to him for the easy post shot. He finished on 5 for 7 shooting

Stats of the Game: (Vernon) On our website, www.92.9Memphisradio.org, ou can find the all box scores for any Grizzlies game from this season.

Keys To This Series:
  • Both teams have a strong core made up of starting point guards, power forwards, and centers. How well will Mike Conley and Chris Paul do against each other, and same goes for JaMychal Green and Blake Griffin, and Marc Gasol and DeAndre Jordan
  • Rebounding: Despite the Clippers having league leeading rebounder DeAndre Jordan, they still rank behind the Grizzlies in temrs of total rebounds. Will this trend continue?
  • Can LA's bench hold up against the Grizzlie's stellar bench group?
  • Without J.J. Redick, can the Clippers make as many threes with Wesley Johnson?
  • Can the Grizzlie's young bench overcome any playoff jitters and still play strong and as a team?
  • Will James Ennis' scoring ability be highlighted in a match up against veteran Paul Pierce?
  • Who is the Clippers back up center? Brandon Bass? Luc Mbah a Moute? Brice Johnson? This could be the determining factor in this series, DEPTH!

The Hunt: An NBA2K17 Memphis Grizzlies Series

Grizzlies Sweep Clippers!

After finishing the 2017 season poorly, the Grizzlies bounced back and swept the 46-36 Los Angeles Clippers. They won game one in a blow out, 130-103, then won in another blow out, 106-85. Game 3 in LA was a bit closer, 101-98, and then Memphis closed out off of Chandler Parsons' 35 points, 110-94. This comes to no surprise as Memphis defeated Los Angeles 3-0 in the season series with JaMychal Green being the leading scorer in those three games.

This victory pits the 3 seeded Memphis Grizzlies and 7 seeded Houston Rockets in a conference semifinal match up. Houston defeated the 2 seeded Oklahoma City Thunder in their round 1 victory, 4-2. The Rockets had an all-around attack, not having to rely on James Harden in every situation. Houston coach, Mike D'Antoni, and his offensive prowess showed as Houston only scored under 100 points in game 4, which was a loss for them.

Golden State swept Denver and San Antonio cam out of a tough 7-game series between them and the 5 seeded Portland Trail Blazers. In the east, 1 seeded Chicago had to battle Washington to the 7th game to decide a victor, which ended up being Chicago. Toronto, the 2 seed in the east, was upset by Detroit in a relatively easy 6 game series. Boston did similar, defeating the 3 seeded Atlanta Hawks in a bit of a tougher 6 game series that had two over time finishes, both of which Boston won. The reigning champion Cleveland Cavaliers, who were the 5 seed, defeated the Indiana Pacers in a 7 game series.

Of the remaining 8 teams, below are all major injuries:

The Hunt: An NBA2K17 Memphis Grizzlies Series

Memphis Back in the Conference Finals!

After sweeping the Los Angeles Clippers, the Memphis Grizzlies did face a bit of a bigger challenge in the Houston Rockets. Despite Houston pushing them to 6 games, Memphis stayed composed, focused, and saw JaMychal Green record one of the greatest playoff series' in NBA history. He averaged 27 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3.5 blocks per game added on.

This absolute domination helped Memphis set their tone in game 1 where they won 148-93. JaMychal scored 40, a career high, paired with 16 rebounds and 6 blocks. Game 2 and 4 would go to Houston, but that was it. Marc Gasol's injuries will most likely not allow him to get time in the Conference finals against the Golden State Warriors, but he may be able to play in the NBA Finals if able to get there (fingers crossed).

Speaking of Golden State, they defeated 5 seeded San Antonio, 4-3, in a tough fought series that had San Antonio win the first two games on the road. In the east we saw upsets galore. Cleveland defeated Chicago without stars Kevin Love, Kyrie Irving, and Tristan Thompson. However, when you have LeBron Jameson your team anything is possible. This sweep will be followed up by the conference finals with the Detroit Pistons. In a tight 7 game brawl, the 7 seeded Detroit Pistons beat the Boston Celtics. Becoming one of two 7 seeds in NBA Playoff history, the other being the 1987 Supersonics, to make the Conference Finals as an 8 seed.

Stay tuned to find out the results of the Conference Finals and eventual NBA Finals!

Eastern Conference Finals
5 Cleveland Cavaliers v. 7 Detroit Pistons

Western Conference Finals
1 Golden State Warriors v. 3 Memphis Grizzlies
