AS EXPECTED, THE BROOKLYN NETS LET GO HEAD COACH KENNY ATKINSON AFTER A FINISHING A DREADFUL 16-66. ATKINSON WAS SAID TO HAVE CRITICIZED OWNERSHIP FOR LACK OF DIRECTION. NETS OWNER MIKHAIL PROKHOROV IS SAID TO BE HAVE ALREADY BEEN IN TALKS WITH FORMER CAVS HEAD COACH DAVID BLATT.

Playoffs: The Eastern Conference At A Glance

Celtics vs. Wizards
This is the match-up that is the most intriguing to me as the 4/5 match-up usually is. Isaiah Thomas vs. John Wall is going to be a joy to watch but it's going to be the "others" that decide this series. The Al Horford/Marcin Gortat matchup & Otto Porter/Jae Crowder match-ups look to be a wash but Brad Stevens coaching and the bench production from Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart & Kelly Olynyk is where I think the C's take the edge and the series.

Cavs vs. Bulls
The Bulls have played better against "the better" teams this season, and Dwyane Wade is no doubt pleased with a chance to play his buddy LeBron. His buddy LeBron is also pleased, because the series should be a cakewalk for the Cavs. Aside from the fact that the Bulls' locker room seems to be in shambles, they are thin as paper up front with no Robin Lopez; they are simply outmatched in every sense of the word.

Raptors vs. Bucks
The Raptors are the favorites in this series with their all-star backcourt & the addition of what they have been missing (rim protection and a space-creating PF) in Serge Ibaka but Giannis Antetokounmpo is the perfect guy to steal the series; a shock upset could easily come on the shoulders of a terrific performance from the Greek Freak. Kidd has also said that he will start Greg Monroe for the first time this season for this series. Expect a hard fought series with the Raptors moving on to the 2nd round.

Hawks vs. Pistons
This one is going to be a slugfest, no doubt; Atlanta is arguably more talented and as of the 2nd half of the season; a top 3 defense, but the Pistons at top effort match strengths perfectly with these Hawks. Van Gundy will start Tobias Harris alongside Marcus Morris in an attempt to create more spacing for everyone to operate. With both of these teams dialing up the defensive intensity it will come down to who can get a few hot shooting performances. I'm going with Atlanta as they have had the more consistent season shooting with range.

Giannis Antetokounmpo says he's ready for the post-season and thinks his team can pull off the upset win in their series against the Raptors. "I think a lot of people sleep on us. And they sleep on us more cause we don't have Jabari right now. We got players though."

NBA announces Greg Popovich as the J. Walter Kennedy Citizenship Award winner.

Local newspaper, the Houston Chronicle printed a full page ad ahead of the Rockets 1st round match-up against the Grizzlies; thanking Chandler Parsons for leaving Houston a couple of years back. Parsons responded on twitter with this:

Sources close to the Pelicans say that the team could be eyeing SF Rudy Gay in free agency. New Orleans is rumored to have eyed Gay in the past and they are hoping to meet with new center DeMarcus Cousins regarding the potential acquisition this summer.

Damian Lillard: "It was a disappointing season for us to say the least. We'll go go back to the drawing board with coach Stotts and figure out what we need to do to compete next season".

Bulls to start Rajon Rondo in series against Cavs. Fred Hoiberg - "I think Rondo's savvy and tempo management will be key in this series as we try to match up against their size and speed". Rondo, Butler and Hoiberg have had many issues as of late and throughout the season but they seem to be on the same page for now.
