NC Central Eagles fire Coach Levelle Moton

It was announced today that the NCCU Eagles have released Coach Moton. He was a former player at NCCU from 1992 to 1996. He coached from 2009 until today Compiling a 127-93 Record. He Led NCCU to an appearance in the NIT just two years ago but after sliding backwards this previous year the athletic department feels the program should be going a different direction. School officials had this to say: "Coach Moton was a great coach here at NCCU. He led us to one of our best seasons ever but we feel the program is heading in a different direction now. We wish coach Moton all the best."

Many sources say that the eagles are looking at current assistants at the D1 level or may even dip into the high school coaching scene.

The Search is Over

The NCCU Eagles have filled the position of head coach with the signing of James Bayse. Bayse has a long history of basketball for someone just 25 years old. He played high school ball with 5 Star recruit Dorian Finney-Smith at I.C. Norcom High school in Portsmouth Va. He then played 4 years as a Member of the Old Dominion Monarchs. Following his senior season he played in the China Basketball League, Averaging 14.3 PPG and 9.7 Assists Per Game in his 3 Seasons overseas. Coach Bayse was forced into an early retirement at age 24 due to injuries from a car accident last year.
This move shocks many people because Coach Bayse has no experience coaching but after talking to officials at the school they said they were impressed by his sheer knowledge of the game.
