Westbrook Finally Shows Up, But KD Scores 43 in Sweep of Thunder

The Warriors looked unstoppable in the Game 4 127-99 win to complete the sweep.

From a personal standpoint, I was elated that the rival Thunder had been destroyed in the WCF. From a business standpoint, well... we only won 19 games so I can't really brag there. *sigh* There's always next year...

76ers Hold Bucks to 80 in 93-80 Victory

Robert Covington scored 18 of the 76ers 51 bench points in the Game 4 win.

The story of the game wasn't Ben Simmons or Jahlil Okafor or Joel Embiid. It was Robert Covington. Covington was the leading scorer with a game-high 18 points. The 76ers bench outscored the Milwaukee bench 51 to 22, and the 76ers showed that they could win a shootout and a defensive battle. They also showed that anyone on their team was quite capable of scoring. This is a 76ers team to be scared of, but can they overcome the Warriors in the Finals?

A Return to Glory: The Seattle SuperSonics

Bucks Bench Lacks Production In 103-97 Win

Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 13 points, dished 6 assists, and grabbed 6 boards in the Game 5 victory over the 76ers. Jabari Parker added 20 more points while Carter-Williams had 19. The Bucks athleticism showed through as they closed the game on a 12-2 run including two Parker threes in the waning seconds to secure the win.

The Bucks were trailing 95-91 with 2:00 remaining in the game. Michael Carter-Williams dribbled up and called for a screen. Giannis set the pick on Jerryd Bayless and rolled to the basket. Carter-Williams lobbed it up to Giannis who grabbed the ball and slammed it home to cut the lead to two. The Bucks immediately fouled and Nik Stauskas split the free throws to make the score 96-93. The Bucks came back down the court and ran a pick and pop play that left Giannis with the ball at the top guarded by Simmons. Giannis faked inside, took one dribble, stepped back and drilled a three over Ben Simmons. The stadium was dead silent.

The 76ers inbounded the ball, 1:12 remaining in the game. Jarryd Bayless brought the ball up the court. He dished to Ben Simmons in the corner who pump faked and flew past Khris Middleton. Middleton made a desperation reach for the ball and fouled Simmons.

Simmons split the pair of free throws and the 76ers led 97-96. On the Bucks next possession, the crowd seemed to be holding their collective breath. Giannis was playing point guard for this possession. Giannis drove and kicked the ball out to a wide-open Jabari Parker for a three. 99-97 Bucks lead. The 76ers raced up the floor with 33 seconds remaining. They gave the ball to Simmons who drove past Middleton and threw up a floater, but Middleton came from behind and tipped the ball!

Giannis gathered in the board and ran out on the break trying to avoid the foul. He threw the ball to Parker in the corner who waited for the defense to come and foul. He pumped and Bayless soared towards him. Parker allowed Bayless to hit him while Parker calmly buried the and-one three with 12 seconds remaining. He hit the free throw to give Milwaukee a 103-97 win.

Jabari Parker was the hero for the Bucks in the Game 5 win.
