2016-2017

Pre-Season:
-Cavs dump Jake the Snake (Kyrie) to the Knicks in a 3 Team deal.

Cavs get: Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, Kristaps Porzingis

NYK get: Tristan Thompson, Kyrie Irving,

CHI get: Courtney Lee, Shumpert, Cavs 2nd Rounder, NY 2nd Rounder & chance to dump DWade's contract.

-Woj: Rumor mill begins to churn, several teams desire to dump their "stars" and rebuild. Names I'm hearing:
-Wizards
-LAC
-Grizzlies
-Hornets
-Raptors

Top 3 Rookies To Watch:
1.) Lonzo Ball
2.) Ben Simmons*
3.) DeAaron Fox

*Indicates non-draftee this year, just eligible for ROTY.

Season:
-Steph Curry's 57 Point game against the cavs (Nov 25th, 2017)

Playoffs:
-Warriors and Wolves in WCF. Cavs and Bucks in ECF. Both had the 1&2 seeded teams.

-GS jumped out to a series lead, 3-1, but was unable to finish off MIN, and lost the next three.

-The MIL Bucks surprised the world, and swept the Cavaliers.

Off-season:

-Wizards announce "rebuild", trading John Wall & Bradley Beal to the 76ers for a first round pick, Markelle Fultz, and dumping Marcin Gortat to the Cavaliers for two first rounders. This creates possibly the most cap-heavy super team of all time.
-LeBron - Melo - DWade - Rose - Gortat - Sullinger (min. contract) - Love - Porzingis
-Dwyane Wade announces this is his last NBA season.
-OKC begins rebuilding process, dumping Westbrook on the Bucks for several 1st rounders, $$$, Greg Monroe, & John Henson.
-OKC also dumps PG13 & Andre Roberson on the Trailblazers for Caleb Swanigan & two 1st Rounders.
-Completing their new look, OKC sends Kanter & Adams to the Nets for
-Vince Carter announces this is his last NBA season.


-Top 3 Rookies to Watch:
1.) Michael Porter Jr. (ORL / SF)
2.) Brian Bowen (OKC / SF)
3.) Lonnie Walker (SG / DAL)

Playoffs:
-Lakers upset 2016 Finals winners Twolves in round 1 of 2017 playoffs

2018-2019

Off-season:
-Rule Change: Possession Arrow in place instead of Jump Balls
-Lebron signs with Warriors in 2018 FA
-In order to sign LeBron, D . Green is traded to Kings (lacking a star or decent PF) & Klay is sent to join MPJR and finals rival, ORL.
-Kemba Walker signs with the Nuggets.
-PG13 signs with Lakers
-Chris Paul signs with Bucks and begins training to play SG alongside Westbrook.
-NBA announces Seattle will rejoin the league for the 2019-2020 season

-MPJR wins 2018-2019 Dunk contest, and 3PT Contest, becoming first to ever do so.

-Raptors begin to dissemble their team at the all star break, realizing another failed season.
-Lowry is traded to the Pistons for Tobias Harris, Reggie Jackson & their 2020 first round pick.
-DeRozan is traded to the Bulls for Z. Lavine , Ja'Lon Goins (C, 72), 20' 1st round.
-In an effort to acquire another pick, Raptors trade Gordon Hayward to the Rockets for Carmelo Anthony & a 22' 1st round pick.

-The Pelicans, feeling a lack of depth at PG, rush to solve the issue. The Spurs, wanting to push their rebuild, offer a solution.
-NO trades Cheick Diallo and a 21' second rounder for Spurs PG Tony Parker. The spurs later trade away Rudy Gay for Shaun Livingston after acquiring a noteable SF in the draft.

Playoffs:

-Suns face Warriors in the playoffs for the third straight time (2017,2018,2019), Warriors win for third straight time.

-Klay Thompson hits game winning shot against the Pistons to send team to conference finals against MIL.

-Rule Change: Teams now enter a 1+1 bonus after five fouls.

-Kawhi Leonard leaves the crumbling Spurs franchise for Boston on a 4 yr/116 Mil deal.

-Clippers trade Jordan (to Knicks) and Blake Griffin (to Mavericks) and begin complete rebuild

-Clippers trade BG, and two 2nd rounders to the Mavs for Dennis Smith & Domantas Sabonis.

-LAC trade DeAndre Jordan to NYK for Tristan Thompson & Javale McGee + 1st Round Pick

-When asked why, Clippers owner was quoted as saying "All our stars are moving on. The team is getting old. It's time."

-Marc Gasol signs to 76ers

-Dirk Nowitzki announces retirement after this season. He's going to begin playing off the bench as Griffin's backup.

Season - End:
-Brian
Bowen of the Oklahoma City Thunder wins first MVP award averaging 28/8/12
-Oktay Sipal of the Hawks wins Rookie of the year
-Cedi Osman of the Sonics wins 6MOTY
-NYK, after acquiring Butler (and DeAndre Jordan via trade) still miss the playoffs.

Playoffs:
-In a surprising turn of events, SEA reaches the conference semi-finals in the first year of their rebirth.
-DAL is eliminated by LAL in semi-finals, leaving Dirk with one championship over his career. All players embrace him on the court in his final game.
-Milwaukee beats Washington 107-106 to force a game 7 in semi-finals
-Wizards edge out Bucks to face ORL in Conf. Finals
-Magic sweep Wizards to advance to NBA Finals, Thunder beat LAL 4-2 to advance to second straight NBA finals appearance.

NBA FINALS:
-MVP Brian Bowen of OKC faces off against 2x All Star, Michael Porter JR.
-OKC takes an early 3-0 lead, but Magic win game 4.
-OKC wins game 5, and becomes NBA champions
-Klay Thompson on the loss, "It's tough really. Did I mention I'm a free agent this year?"



2020-2021

Off-season

-The Warriors, after assembling the league's three best players and spending two seasons failing to capture the title...

-...Trade LeBron James (who, in fairness, demanded the trade, claiming playing in the west was a "failed experiment") to the Bucks for Malcom Brogdon and Khris Middleton. Their new starting five (Curry - Middileton - Durant - Tillie - Richards), is being touted as an even better three point team than the 73-9 team. Time will tell.

-On the bucks end of things, their new five (Westbrook - Paul - James - Giannis - Parker) is considered deadly.

-Andrew Wiggins signs with SA
-Kyle Lowry signs with SAC
-Suns sign D. Howard to 3 yr/79 Mil deal
-Suns sign PG Milos Teodosic to 3yr/25 Mil deal
