Westbrook and 40 not enough to stop the Lakers

Nobody expected this game to run its course in such way - Los Angeles had the biggest lead in the game in the third quarter, as they were up by 20 points. While the team had multiple players with great performances, the spark was lit by Jordan Clarkson coming off the bench, who Thunder found no matchup to keep his scoring at bay.

Coach Walton was quite impressed with the movement of the ball. "Nobody was selfish today, I feel that was the main reason why we took the lead early on and continued with it. We made Oklahoma really run around and pressure our shooters, and while some shots didn't hit, it kept the defenders always on their feet."

Oklahoma did manage to claw back into the game, thanks to Westbrook and his play from the line, forcing the Lakers into foul trouble. Yet even his 40 points and a 20-20 game from Adams wasn't enough to close the gap.

Both the Lakers and the Thunder will play the Nuggets in their next game.

Lakers stay undefeated; Gobert out for rest of the Season

A rather intense and competitive game between the only two teams in the league, who were still undefeated, was cut short due to a big injury.

Rudy Gobert got injured in the third quarter, and while the coaches first thought that it might just be a sprain, it later turned out to be a Ruptured Right Achilles, meaning he will miss the rest of the season.

Coach Snyder was not happy. "I am quite disappointed currently. You never know how these things play out, and we have started off the season so well. But now, we have to regroup and figure things out differently. I believe in the players, however. Rudy's absence is a huge hole to fill, but, we will try our best."

The Lakers really did not have a standout player, since the absence of Gobert just let them take control of the paint and finish out strong.

Los Angeles will face the Hawks next game, while the Jazz play against Golden State.

Cousins leads the charge as Pelicans stomp LA

The streak was ended and in such a fashion that it needed parental approval to broadcast.

The bigs lead the show, as both Cousins and Davis had no problem dominating the bigs and the paint of LA. Both of them finished with an equal amount of rebounds - 17. To compare them to the Lakers, they didn't have a single player, who had more than double rebounds - Caldwell-Pope lead the team with 8.

The Lakers really had nothing to be happy with. Clarkson and Lopez lead the team in scoring, but it never felt like Los Angeles was in the game, making the streak end in poor fashion.

Los Angeles will play the Grizzlies in their next game, while the Pelicans face the Hawks.

Ingram, Lopez set on the sideline with injuries
November 11, 2017

Sadly, injuries are a part of the sport that is inevitable, and the Lakers have suffered two on their starters.

Brandon Ingram will miss 2-4 weeks of action with a high ankle sprain. The 20-year old Small Forward from Duke suffered a sprain during their game against the Pelicans. The coaching staff is looking to be cautious and have Ingram come back later rather than sooner, as Los Angeles has started the season off quite well.

The other injury, however, comes to the cornerstone of the team, as Brook Lopez will miss some time with a torn left-hand ligament. Assistant coach Jim Cruzerr said that they ain't quite sure when Lopez would return.

"Currently, it does not look good. He had his medical today and the first news is that he will miss at least a month, maybe two, of action. Right now, our plan is to rotate the squad and have some players step up, get more minutes, and just see what we can do. Tough loss, especially this time of the season."

The Lakers have started off the season with a 7-1 record, topping the Western conference. Whether or not they can fill these gaps and keep winning, time will tell, but it will be quite the challenge.

First quarter domination ends the game there-and-then
November 21, 2017

It is not very often that a game is over before it even properly started.

The Bulls flew into LA and completely dominated from straight on, as they had a 19 point lead going into the second quarter. The Lakers couldn't find an answer for them, as Lavine was scoring with ease, along with Robin Lopez dominating the boards.

Coach Walton was quite disappointed. "We might struggle with injuries, but realistically, a game should never be over in the first half. Never. That is not acceptable."

For the Lakers, Luol Deng lead the team in scoring, with Zubac assisting on the boards. Still, with no proper leader, Los Angeles never really made it a contest.

The Lakers will play Dallas in their next game, while Chicago will fly to Washington to face the Wizards.
