Ricky Rubio continues his stellar play in 2017, putting up 24, 4, 8, and 3.
Rubio Leads Jazz Past Giannis and the Bucks
December 9th, 2017
Ricky Rubio continues to make his case for the 2018 All-Star Game. The 7th year guard posted 24 points, 4 rebounds, 8 assists, and 3 steals in a win against the Milwaukee Bucks on the road, and he looked damn good doing it, shooting 11 for 19 from the floor and 2 of 4 from three. Donovan Mitchell received the start at the two guard as Derrick Favors is still out with a knee injury. Mitchell put up 17 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists, although he shot just 6 for 15 from the floor. Rudy Gobert put up 12 points, 17 rebounds, and 4 blocks on the evening.
Joe Ingles, starting at power forward, nearly put up a double-double, though he shot fairly poorly at 4-14. Ingles put up 9 points and 8 rebounds in 30 minutes of play, and he played fantastic defense on Giannis Antetokounmpo all night long. Rodney Hood started at the small forward position, putting up just 5 points and 2 assists off 2-5 shooting.
Joe Ingles was the primary defender on Antetokounmpo all night, holding him to just 15 points.
For Milwaukee, Giannis once again was their leading scorer, putting up 15 points, along with 18 rebounds and 10 assists, as well as 3 blocks. Khris Middleton had 15 points off of 7 for 10 shooting, and Malcolm Brogdon also had 15 points along with 5 assists off of 6 for 19 shooting. Thon Maker had 10 points and 7 boards in 25 minutes.
The Jazz improve to 18-9 on the season, as they're still sitting at 3rd in the Western Conference. The win avoids dropping a third straight game for the 2nd time in the 2 weeks. The Bucks drop to 14-11, still tied for third place in the East with the New York Knicks, 4 games behind the 1st-place Cavs.

Chris Bosh Medically Cleared To Return To NBA
December 9th, 2017
Power Forward Chris Bosh has officially been medically cleared for a return to the NBA. The 33-year-old big man hasn't played since 2016 for the Miami Heat, where he put up 19.1 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game while shooting 46.7% from the floor and 36.5% from three. Bosh was forced to retire due to a recurring blood clot problem, which ended his season twice, and subsequently, his career. However, with doctors now clearing him, it will be interesting to see if any time takes a flier on the talented former All-Star. Playing Bosh could be a big risk; what if the blood clots return? What if Bosh has complications while playing on the court? The entire franchise would look bad if they brought Bosh in and the clots either come back, forcing him to stop playing again, or worse, they come back and he dies on the floor.
Obviously, two teams being linked to Bosh right now are the Cavaliers and the Warriors. Bosh should be willing to sign a cheap deal with either team if they want him. However, there are without a doubt a number of teams that may be willing to take a risk on signing him. Teams that jump off the list are Boston, OKC, Toronto, San Antonio, and Utah. However, will Bosh be the same player that he once was? He hasn't played in over a year, and while I'm sure he's in good shape, it's one thing to be in shape and it's another to be in NBA game shape. This will be an interesting story to follow moving forward.
Re: #TakeNote - Utah Jazz 30-Team-Control MyLeague (2k18)
Interesting story with Bosh returning to play. I've been toying with that idea myself, since I'm using the Thunder and he'd be a good fit in OKC, his addition would allow a lot more creativity with the lineups. Obviously, Cleveland and Golden State are the best fits. Toronto and Miami would be solid choices as well.

Been following (of course!) but verrrrrrrryyyyy interesting to see Bosh back in. CB would make a great addition for the Jazz as a floor spacing big - I doubt he'd play starter minutes based on his past medical history, but as a super-6th man (20-22 minutes a night?) he could be really useful.
Of course, reuniting with LeBron and Wade in Cleveland would be likely ... and Cleveland would happily slot him in at the 5 if they thought he could handle it. Many interesting directions for CB to go.
Re: #TakeNote - Utah Jazz 30-Team-Control MyLeague (2k18)
In mine Bosh signed sign with the Celtics and I think that's a good fit for him as they could use another big man and officially don't really have a quality PF.

The week started for Utah with a bang, as they got a 134 to 106 victory against the Washington Wizards. Rudy Gobert had 26 points and 10 rebounds off of 12-14 shooting as he decimated the Wizards' frontcourt. Donovan Mitchell added 21 points and 9 rebounds off of the bench, shooting 7 for 16. Rodney Hood and Thabo Sefolosha both added 18 points; Sefolosha went to the line 11 times in 16 minutes, making 8 of them. Ricky Rubio had 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 13 assists while shooitng 7 for 12 from the floor. Joe Johnson had 15 points and 3 rebounds in the starting lineup. The Jazz shot an astounding 62 percent from the floor.
The very next night, Utah traveled to OKC, where they fell 94 to 80 in a defensive matchup. Paul George led the Thunder with 20 points and 7 rebounds, while Russell Westbrook had 12 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists. Carmelo Anthony had 15 points and 10 rebounds. Rodney Hood led the Jazz with 18 points and 4 rebounds, while Donovan Mitchell had 17 points off of the bench in 26 minutes. Rubio put up 14, 6, and 6 with 2 steals, but shot just 5 for 15.
Thursday night, the Jazz hosted the Rockets, but once again, Utah's offense faltered, as the Rockets picked up a 96 to 87 victory. James Harden had 18 points, 4 rebounds, and 8 assists, but shot just 6 for 19 from the floor. Chriss Paul had 13 points, 6 rebounds, and 9 assists, but he also shot poorly from the floor, shooting 6 for 15. Luc Mbah a Moute had 18 points, 4 steals, and 2 blocks while shooting 8 for 12. Gobert led the Jazz with 16 points, 18 rebounds, 2 steals, and 4 blocks, but he shot 6 for 15 from the floor. Burks had 14 points in 15 minutes, shooting 6 for 10. Rubio had 12, 4, and 4 off of 5 for 12 shooting.
And tonight, the Jazz got out of their mini-slump by knocking off the Bucks in Milwaukee. Rubio led the way with 24 points, 4 rebounds, and 8 assists, as well as 3 steals, while shooting 11 for 19 from the floor. Donovan Mitchell received the start, and he put up 17 points, 3 boards, and 4 assists. Rudy Gobert had 12 points, 17 boards, 2 assists, and 4 blocks while shooting 6 for 7. Giannis Antetokounmpo dropped a triple-double in the loss, recording 15 points, 18 rebounds, and 10 assists, along with a steal and 3 blocks.
The Jazz continue their 6-game road trip with three games this week against the Chicago Bulls, Boston Celtics, and Cleveland Cavaliers. However, the Jazz do get three days of rest after tonight's game with the Bucks, and so they're returning home tonight before flying back to Chicago Tuesday night.

The Nuggets waived veteran forward Richard Jefferson Saturday morning and signed former Nugget Ty Lawson. Jefferson had been struggling with the Nuggets, as his shot had left him and he looked a bit slow. Lawson played with the Nuggets for 6 years, putting up great stats on some very good Denver teams. Although he's 30 already, I wouldn't be surprised to see Lawson start immediately for a Denver squad in need of a veteran point guard to settle things down.
Trey Burke is now a Houston Rocket. The former Wolverine has played 4 seasons in the league, 3 of them with Utah and 1 with the Wizards. Though his defense has always been suspect, last season he shot career-highs in FG% (45.5%) and 3PT% (44.3%), although his scoring was down overall from his Utah days. You have to imagine Burke will get a fair shake in Houston with Eric Gordon's season ending injury. The Rockets are thin in the backcourt after the injury, and getting a guard in Burke who can play off-ball from Harden and Paul is a good pickup.
