The Big O in the Big Apple

*The only thing I change is I turn off progressive fatigue.
**I let the CPU handle free agents and scouting, but I manage rotations and injuries.

Premise...
I racked my brain for some sort of creative way to introduce a player who's been retired for almost 45 years just being dropped into today's NBA, but I couldn't come up with anything. I just wanted to add Oscar Robertson to a team who was a "bad" team but had one other good young player with a lot of potential. The Knicks and Porzingis fit that bill and the whole "Big O in the Big Apple" just seemed to have a nice ring to it.

I will be playing with player lock on Oscar Robertson. I've toyed with it for a few games in other instances before this to get a feel for it, and loved it, so I figured I'd give it a go with a MyLeague. I will be starting with 22-year old Oscar Robertson which was his rookie season. I bumped his age down to 21 because that's the oldest a player with his potential would be in the NBA today during his rookie season. Realistically, if the NBA in the 60's was more like it is today, Oscar Robertson would've been a one-and-done 19/20 year old rookie.

I took a few liberties with some of the free agents on the roster. I added Isaiah Thomas to the Magic and decided to finally team up Carmelo with LeBron in LA. I will also be using historic draft classes because and the first draft class will be the 1996 class.

I've done these in the past where I've attempted to post some sort of recap of all 82 games. However, for this MyLeague, right now I'm leaning towards posting recaps/boxscores primarily for games agaisnt division opponents; I'll also post recaps/boxscores for most of my games against top teams who aren't in my division.

If you enjoy seeing game results and league-wide updates, then this is the MyLeague for you to follow. If you enjoy MyLeague's/MyGM's that are more story based (which is perfectly fine), then you won't get that here. I will probably get a wild hair when I have some extra time to write a story/report about a game or do a piece on a player or something happening in the league, but that will be few and far between.

Re: The Big O in the Big Apple

Nice start. Good to see Big O flirting with triple doubles every night! He could be massive and fill in lots of the holes on the Knicks roster.
