Atlanta Hawks 2k19 "Trusting The Process Again"

Major Hawks Trade

I will have more info from each side coming for now I will just stick to the overview of the trade.

Hawks Thoughts
They were rumors Atlanta would make a big trade if they didn't win the championship this past year. You had to many quality players and Ball was breathing down the neck of the star PG. Its tough to see Trae Young traded the best offense PG in the entire NBA who has scored atleast 20 per game every year. Atlanta gets back Karl Anthony Towns one of the top 3 C's in the entire NBA. He can do it all score inside, shoot 3's, rebound and defend. He now joins Bol Bol and Zion for the best trio of frontcourt players in the league

Wolves Thoughts
The final straw for them was losing in the 1st round of the playoffs to a Kings team without their best player. Minnesota going into the offseason had two holes PG and PF and they fill both of them with this trade. This was a sign and trade so they get their new PG on a new contract. They also get a little younger in the trade as Trae is 3 years younger then Towns. They already have a replacement for Towns in house so Collins with slide into the starting PF job. Don't let the star value fool you in the picture Collins is a quality player.

Detailed Wolves Thoughts

Trae gives Minnesota a new #1 guy and his offense ratings and production speak for themselves. They had a major hole at PG and last years 12th overall pick isn't ready for the starting job. Trae is still a bad defender however he grades out at C+ so he is better then he was his rookie year. The 24 year old will score you 20 a game so you can pencil that in for the next 7 years or longer. He is also a great passer and averaged 11 assists per game. They are some talented wings on this roster whose job just got a lot easier.

John Collins isn't great at scoring inside however his rebounding, defending, IQ and athleticism are all top notch. He is also locked up for several more years which is key for a small market team. There is enough scoring to go around with Wiggins and Marks at the wings. This also gives Daniel Gafford a chance to start and see 30 minutes a game. They also have Chris Levert coming off the bench so this team has everything in place to make a deep postseason run.

That's not a bad trade at this point in their careers. Bol and Towns' shooting can help space the floor when they share it with Zion. How do you plan to run the offense, through KAT or Zion?

I have only played partial of a few games for the next season I am leaning toward KAT being the 1st option and Zion 2nd. KAT is a lot better shooter and even a little better in the post up game it seems. Its early on, but both will easily score 20 a game while I don't even think my 3rd is at 14 a game. I am hoping without Trae playing that will bump up Zions scoring with the CPU playing.

Detailed Hawks Thoughts

Here we will take a look at the opening day rotations and more detailed look at Karl Anthony Towns. You see now why Atlanta gave up so much to get him as he grades out as A+ in scoring inside, mid range, and rebounding. His ability to knock down the 3 will pair perfectly with Zion. Bol is a good shooter so this confirms at all times a stretch 5 will be paired with Zion/Musa/ Hunter at the 4. The defense KAT brings to the table isn't any better then Collins so from that side its a neutral.

The defense overall is going to get better which it was already one of the best in the league. The starting 2/3 spots isn't set it stone for now its Huerter at the 2 and Musa at the 3. This gives Atlanta two guys in the wings with A+ shooting. Fan favorite Bol Bol will shift to the bench and be a candidate for 6th man award. Ball still isn't starting despite the trade of Young that's because one of him and Murray is needed for the PG spot in the 2nd unit. Even though Ball flashed out of this world potential for now you just cant justify starting him over Murray who has A+ in defense and always leads the PG in rebounds.
