Re: May The (Pittsburgh) Force Be With You NBA2K18
Force Easily Handle Pacers; Win 152-127 Indianapolis - Doomed by poor team shooting, the Pacers continued it's slide, sitting at a league worst 1-8 after tonight's game against Pittsburgh. After a close first quarter, in which the point margin was 6 in favor of the Force, the Pacers had a laughably bad second and went into halftime down 76-54. The Force, led by Dwight Howard's game high 17, out rebounded the Pacers 72-58. Kemba Walker scored a game high 29, while Shabazz Muhammad had his best game with the Force, shooting 3-3 from the 3 point line, and finished with 19 points. The Force's offensive attack, which puts pressure on a teams backcourt through an up tempo attack, allows for huge offensive numbers when executed precisely. That precision allows for the team to run a deep bench, allowing the starters to take more rest breaks. Back up SG Manu Ginobili played a season high 26 minutes last night, finishing with 11 points. "Ideally, with our scheme, it allows us to rotate everyone in. My hope is that we won't have to have guys taking days off for much needed maintenance, because we won't have to play them 30 plus minutes a night.", said Force Head Coach Sean Castro. The Pacers starters combined for a 34-79 shooting line, with Center Myles Turner having the highest percentage, shooting 5-7. Superstar Paul George was shooting contested shots for a majority of the game, shooting 8-18 and ending the game with 19 points. Jeff Teague, who leads the league in assists, had 7. Teague, though shot 9-23 and finished with 23 points. "They were pathetic.", said a Pacers fan leaving the game. "Maybe the universe should adjust some of these game sliders."

Re: May The (Pittsburgh) Force Be With You NBA2K18
Battle With Cleveland Takes 2 OTs; Force Lose By 8 Cleveland - After overcoming an 8 point deficit in the first half, the Pittsburgh Force stormed back to match the Cavaliers point for point, forcing 2 overtimes. The first ever overtime game in franchise history was made possible thanks to a last second 3 pointer by Jeremy Lamb, who finished with 25 points. However, it was a costly Lamb turnover that turned the tides in Cleveland's favor halfway through the second OT. Jerian Grant had his best game in a Force uniform, scoring 33 points and continuing his free throw mastery shooting 11-11 from the charity stripe. Early foul trouble meant a first half mostly void of Montrezl Harrell and Dwight Howard. Howard did finish with 22 rebounds, but on the whole, the Force were out rebounded 87-77. Early in the first overtime, Force PF Ersan Ilyasova and Cavs SG JR Smith both went up for a rebound, and an errant Smith elbow connected to Ilyasova's nose. While it hasn't been confirmed as of press time, just by the looks of it and the amount of blood that gushed out, Ilyasova appears to have broken his nose. "I am not ready to comment one way or the other, but Ersan lost a good amount of blood today. He is currently being evaluated for a broken nose and concussion. We will let you know when we know something" Force Head Coach Sean Castro said after the game. After a tense first overtime that left the game tied at 170, Jeremy Lamb attempted an end-to-end pass to Shabazz Muhammad, but Kyrie Irving jumped in front of Muhammad, and then dished it of to Lebron James who downed a three pointer. The Cavs kept the lead from there on out. Even though Cavs Center Tristan Thompson was in early foul trouble, and actually fouled out of the game a minute into the 4th quarter, backup Alex Len showed poise and grit, hauling in 14 rebounds and finishing with 18 points. The Cavs were led by Kyrie Irving and Lebron James, who finished with 53 and 55 points respectively. James, had a triple-double (the first ever against the Force) with 55 points, 13 rebounds, and 15 assists. Despite the game taking 2 extra quarters, the Cavs didn't put Jodie Meeks or Shelvin Mack in the game, and both Channing Frye and Iman Shumpert played only a minute a piece. The Cavs starting four (Irving, JR Smith, James, and Kevin Love) each played over 40 minutes. "Tonight we proved that we are more than an expansion team. We may of lost, but this was a statement game for us as a group. Tonight we went toe to toe with the Champs. We look forward to the rematch." Force PG Kemba Walker said.

Re: May The (Pittsburgh) Force Be With You NBA2K18
Ersan Ilyasova Week-To-Week With Broken Nose And Fractured Cheek Bone Pittsburgh - An errant JR Smith elbow has shelved Force PF Ersan Ilyasova for the next few weeks with a broken nose and fractured cheekbone. "If this were the playoffs, he could probably play. But we are going to sit him until he gets healthy. We want him at 100%, not 80%. He could play with a shield, but we would prefer if he didn't.", said Force GM Pat Riley. Ilyasova, who was the primary backup to Montrezl Harrell, will go on the reserve list with PG TJ McConnell activated to the main roster. PF Davis Bertans, who was already taking minutes away from Ilyasova, will now be the primary backup. "We believe in Davis. He will get more minutes, and now we will give more minutes to (C Kevin) Seraphin, who will now play both the 4 and 5." said Sean Castro. Ilyasova is no stranger to this injury, as two years ago he had to play a month with a nose shield. "It's not ideal. But, it won't slow me down" said Ilyasova of having to play with the face shield. The injury gives SF Wesley Iwundu more time on the roster, as he was rumored to get moved to the reserve list or possibly sent to the G League after not impressing coaches during his brief stint with the team. The injury now opens a spot for TJ McConnell to come back up, while also keeping Iwundu on the roster. "Look, Iwundu has to play better. He was a late first rounder, but still a first rounder. We want him to play his heart out, and we expect more out of him. Probably more than other teams around the league expect out of their first rounders. We don't want him on the reserve list or in the G League, but if we have to send him there, we will." Castro said.

Re: May The (Pittsburgh) Force Be With You NBA2K18
Force Easily Displace Rockets 139-119 Pittsburgh - In front of a sellout crowd inside The Iron City Center, the Pittsburgh Force continued it's early season dominance by defeating the Houston Rockets by 20 points, winning 139-119. The Rockets, who were playing without starting PG Patrick Beverly, had to play the second half without star SG James Harden, who dislocated his big toe when he got tangled up with Jerian Grant with 3 minutes left in the 2nd quarter. Early reports say that Harden will miss the next few games and could miss as much as 3 weeks. Without Harden, who scored 29 points in only 17 minutes of action, the Rockets struggled offensively. Backups (and former All Stars) Eric Gordon and Rajon Rondo only managed to score a combined 17 points in relief. Patty Mills, who was starting in place of Patrick Beverly went 4-12 in 28 minutes of action. The Force, meanwhile, were led by Kemba Walker and Davis Bertans who both scored 18 points. Bertans, who took o a more prominent role with Ersan Ilyasova recovering with a broken nose and fractured cheekbone, out played starting PF Montrezl Harrell, who managed to commit a game high 7 turnovers. The fallout of Ilyasova's injury means that TJ McConnell returned to the lineup, which hampered the minutes that sixth man Jerian Grant played. Grant, played only 14 minutes but still managed 14 points. McConnell, meanwhile, only scored 2 points in 15 minutes of action. Next up for The Force is a road game against the struggling Mavericks, who are dealing with an injury to Harrison Barnes.

Re: May The (Pittsburgh) Force Be With You NBA2K18
Despite Injury Scare, Force Rolls Past Mavericks Dallas - The Pittsburgh Force thankfully avoided a serious injury to Dwight Howard, and easily defeated Dallas 132-105. In the first minute of the 4th quarter, Dwight Howard went up for a rebound, and rolled his right foot when he landed on Mavericks backup center AJ Hammons. Howard, who finished the game with only 9 points, had to be helped off the court by Kemba Walker and Davis Bertans. Quickly thereafter, Howard was helped to the locker room where x-rays came back negative. "Dwight suffered a sprained ankle, and will be day-to-day. He won't play against Golden State in two days. Beyond that, he could possibly miss more games, but the injury isn't serious. It could've been a lot worse." Force Head Coach Sean Castro said. The Mavericks, in the midst of a slump and without SF Harrison Barnes, had trouble shooting all night. They were led in points by Justin Jackson, who scored just 16 coming off the bench. Lance Stephenson, who they acquired this summer in a trade for JJ Barea, shot just 3-18. As for the Force, they were led in points by Jerian Grant who scored 22 while only playing 13 minutes. Grant, who has been valuable coming off the bench claims that his decrease in minutes isn't weighing on him, despite instances last night where he looked visibly disinterested in the game. "The only stats I care about is the win-loss record. All that other stuff will work itself out." said Grant. While Grant has been a dynamo, last night Kemba Walker scored 18, with 15 of those points coming in the first half. Kemba's lone points in the second half came on a three pointer late in the 4th quarter. The guard position will get more crowded with the injury to Dwight Howard, as the team will activate PG Raul Neto while Howard sits out. "If Dwight's injury was more serious, we would be forced to make a move." Force GM Pat Riley said. "Zaza will start with Seraphin as the backup, when those two guys need a breather, we will play a shorter game and play either Davis or Montrezl at the 5."

Re: May The (Pittsburgh) Force Be With You NBA2K18
Without Howard, Force Fall To Warriors 137-130 Pittsburgh - The Force, off to a surprisingly good start but without star center Dwight Howard, fell to Golden State last night. Despite leading by 12 points at halftime, Pittsburgh fell apart in the 3rd and was looking to overcome a 5 point deficit going into the 4th. They ended up falling by 7. Zaza Pachulia, starting in place of Howard, could only muster 11 rebounds and 5 points through 22 minutes. With guard Raul Neto (13 minutes, 3 points) taking Howard's roster spot, the team lacked big men, and was led off the bench by F's Davis Bertans, Evan Turner, and C Kevin Seraphin in terms of minutes. Jerian Grant saw his minutes drop to 15 with the influx of guards, but still managed to score 11. Kemba Walker, again was cold shooting 6-18 and 2-6 from beyond the arc. The Warriors were led by their All Stars Kevin Durant (36) and Steph Curry (31), who combined to score 67 points. The Force will travel to Wasington to take on The Wizard tomorrow night, and will again be without the services of Dwight Howard and Ersan Ilyasova, who continues to recover from his broken nose and fractured cheekbone.

Re: May The (Pittsburgh) Force Be With You NBA2K18
Kemba Walker Controls Game; Force Defeat Wizards 155-121 Washington D.C. - Kemba Walker rebounded after a few down performances, scoring 32 in a win over the Wizards. With both Dwight Howard and Ersan Ilyasova sitting the game out due to injuries, Walker responded fast in the first quarter, scoring the first 8 points of the game. That explosion led to a 15 point cushion, as the Force led 45-30 after one. Backing up Zaza Pachulia (12 points, 12 rebounds), Kevin Seraphin played a season high 24 minutes, grabbing 8 rebounds. Although his scoring line was down (9 points), Jeremy Lamb played an important defensive role by guarding John Wall all game long. "The guy is like a mosquito." Wall said after only being able to attempt one three pointer, and scoring only 17. Bradley Beal had a game high 21 points for the Wizards, but shot only 9-19 from the floor. After the win, Force head coach Sean Castro was asked about Dwight Howard and Ersan Ilyasova. "We need the both. Their physicality. Dwight looks like he will be back possibly by the next game. Ersan is still another week or two away." With Howard coming back, it looks like Raul Neto will be heading back to the reserve list. Neto did impress with a 12 point game, despite only playing 9 minutes.

Re: May The (Pittsburgh) Force Be With You NBA2K18
Force's Strong 4th Wins Game Against Lakers Pittsburgh - The Force needed a strong 4th quarter where they outscored the Los Angeles Lakers 42-30 to help them secure a 141-123 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers. Shabazz Muhammad had his best performance of the season, scoring 32, in the victory. The team needed Muhammad, since both starting guards Kemba Walker and Jeremy Lamb combined to score zero points in the first half. It's been an erratic season early on for Kemba. "Just trying to find my grove." Walker said after the game. "I have to readjust my training with Coach Castro's up tempo offense" "He just needs to slow down a bit. I know with my style, that may be odd to say, but once he learns to play with more controlled frenzy he will be fine." Castro said. Dwight Howard returned to the game and the starting lineup, but looked to still favor his ankle, and was outplayed by Zaza Pachulia who outscored and had more rebounds than Dwight. TJ McConnell, who was in danger of being sat to make room for Howard, scored 15 in 14 minutes of action, justifying the team keeping him active and instead sitting Raul Neto. Rookie SG Malik Monk shined for the Lakers scoring 22, while Ian Clark scored 19 coming off the bench. Roderick Gatling made a strong push for more playing time as he scored 6 and grabbed 5 rebounds in only 9 minutes of play. The Force have a day off before they welcome the Orlando Magic into town, who are coming without the services of Elfrid Payton who is still recovering from an injury.
