Two huge trades went down this summer, involved six teams. All of these moves could have major implications around the league. Let's take a look at how they broke down:
Boston - Kyrie Irving is unhappy in Boston, requested a trade and Ainge obliged. Boston decided to go young and potentially add future draft capital but it's a gamble because two of the three draft picks are pick swaps. Ball and Allen should immediately help Boston defense but they no longer have the "go to" star in Irving, Tatum is expected to take over that role.
Brooklyn - Brooklyn signed KD in free agency and got him another star in Kyrie. The trade two of their youngsters in Allen and Russell but they see their time as now so they're going for it. They have two pick swaps and one draft pick going to Boston over the next three years but if they play to their potential, then those shouldn't be that great. They also picked up Marcus Morris and Tyler Cavanaugh in the deal.
Los Angeles Lakers - L.A. traded Ball to Boston, and Cavanaugh and a 24 2nd to Brooklyn in order to bring back D'Angelo Russell. D'Loading will join LeBron and Bradley Beal and try to get the Lakers back to glory before Lebron heads off into the sunset.
Detriot - The Pistons realized that the Griffin/Drummond duo wasn't doing anything besides getting them on a treadmill so they decided to mix things up this offseason. The trade Blake for Wiggins, Grant, Labissiere, and a potential pick swap from Miami in 2023. It will be interesting to see how this one will work out.
Miami - Much like Detriot, Miami also realized that they needed to shake things up. Wiggins hasn't really done anything for them since joining them at the Trade Deadline in 18/19. They're bringing in a new PG in Schroder who played extremely well for OKC, a young prospect in Wilkes.
Oklahoma City - OKC has wanted to get Blake in a Thunder uniform since his college days as a Sooner and it's finally happened. The thought in OKC is that this is their last shot with their current core (Westbrook, PG13, Adams, and now Blake). They have the highest payroll in the league and are paying massive amounts in Luxury Taxes. It's a make or break season for them, they don't get close to a title, then them to dump everyone and reshuffle the deck.
The Clippers have missed out on all of their major FA targets for the second straight offseason. Most likely they will be drafting in the Top 5 again next offseason and will once again have some cap space as well. Can they do anything with it next time though?

The big news for Minnesota the offseason was KAT re-upping. He flirted with the idea of going to Toronto before re-signing. The T'Wolves are young but they're going to rely on that youth, as well as defense to take them as far as they can. I don't think it will be that far. They need to get another star to pair with KAT.

Orlando seems like a team that is ripe for a breaking season. They have a lot of young talent with some vets who are ready to break out. If this team doesn't make the playoffs, I will be surprised.
Miami is always going to be fighting for a playoff spot with Pat the Rat and Spoelstra around. Their roster isn't the most well rounded, they have two starting caliber centers that they will try to play together. However, with no 1st next year, they have no incentive to tank so watch out for them to make some moves.

Toronto's biggest opponent this year may be Father Time as a lot of their key players are getting older. They still have both Kawhi and Siakam in their primes and those two will keep them in a lot of games. However, they're really shallow in the backcourt. Danny Green has regressed and they're going to depend on Troy Daniels to start the season. If Daniels or none of their young guys can step up and handle starting, then look for them to make a deal. Either way, they should be a Top 3-4 team in the East.

The Spurs got two pretty good FA's this offseason in Buddy Hield and Danilo Gallinari and also made a trade for Willie Cauley Stein. They have a really deep team and a great coach. They're going to be a sleeper team in the West.
Anthony Davis's first year in New York didn't go as planned, they finished 37-45 and out of the playoffs. They're looking to turn things around this season with mostly the same cast of characters and a couple of rookies. There's a lot of talent on the roster and another lost year would be unacceptable.

Houston has taken a bit of a step back. They've lost some key players and others are getting older. Chris Paul is 35 years old and James Harden missed a large part of last season with a broken leg. Harden is still one of the top players in the game but depth is a huge problem for this team and they really don't have much of an avenue to fix it unless they move one of their to guys. I wouldn't count them out but I wouldn't be surpised to see their run as one of the top 2 teams in the West come to an abrupt end.

The Lakers made a huge move in the offseason by bringing back D'Angelo Russell. The Lakers have a Big Three of James, Beal, and Russell which should be a tough trio to stop. Tristan Thompson also gets reunited with Lebron which should help their rebounding. They are a bit shallow but have some old school vets waiting to step in if/when called upon. Can Lebron make another run at the title?
