Trailing No More-A Blazers Franchise

What's going on OS! I am starting a MyLeague start today with the Blazers. My main focus is to help a small market team bring in quality players and build around Dame and CJ. I'm really bad with playing and jump from team to teams so I'm hoping this will help that. I'm playing with the 2k rosters, may edit some of the players ratings if I need to. Playing with Schnaidt sliders. I will play most of the games and gamecast and sim the rest. Playing 12 min quarters, injuries on, and if injuries happen IRL I will edit those as well. I'm also going to make the trades that happen on the deadline. I'll be playing past the deadline so I will manually assign them to their new teams. I will also trade the picks when trades become available in the off season. I will control most of the draft for all 30 teams, and most of the big free agency moves. Hope you will stick around and watch this team grow and hopefully win some championships!

Current look at the Plalyoff picture and team status

Looking at our trade block and wish list. Never been a fan of Aminu and I dont believe he fits this system. Looking to move him at the deadline for a young PF/C under team control. Getting a guy like JJ or Enes this offseason could really help take this team to the next level.

Re: Trailing No More-A Blazers Franchise

Developing Story
Thunder and Cavs have discussing Abrines for Larry Nance Jr. Could be a solid move for both squads.

Looking at it from the Cavs side-helps shed some cap relief and brings in expiring contract and a decent SG

Looking at it from the Thunder Side-Huge upgrade at the PF either starter or 2nd unit. Getting rid of Abrines who hasnt been what the Thunder hoped for.

Look for the this deal to be done at the deadline.

Re: Trailing No More-A Blazers Franchise

Blazers run past Heat.

Miami tried to slow down Portland, but Blazers were too good. 49% from the floor, 48% from behind the arc, 96% from the charity line.

Up next San Antonio

Re: Trailing No More-A Blazers Franchise

The Blazers made a move to acquire Holmes from Phoneix, in exchange for Amniu who ended up in SacTown. The Kings sent Yogi to the Suns who get a solid PG prospect. Kings get a solid PF who can help them sneak into the playoffs. This helps the Blazers in depth at PF/C. Holmes will come off the bench for now and backing up Leonard.

Re: Trailing No More-A Blazers Franchise

San Antonio came into the Moda Center, looking to spoil the Blazers 4 game W streak. Spurs didn't come prepared though, as Lillard and McCollum put up 26 each, followed by Nurkic with 20. DeRozan and Aldridge had good games as well combining 49 points going 23-33.
Newly acquired Holmes didn't suit up this game. Next up is the new look Dallas Mavs without Porzingis who is still recovering with a torn ACL. Holmes expected to not suit up for this game either, but Blazers fly into OKC for double header and should be in the rotation versus the Thunder.

Re: Trailing No More-A Blazers Franchise

The Blazers flew American to the DFW area to play at the American Airline Center and they must have stayed on the plane, because this did not look like your typical Blazer team. Dallas shot 52% while Portland shot 34%. Blazers trailed on fast breaks all night as Dallas outscores them 29 to 7. Dallas's bench helped the blowout by putting up 68, Portland managed 40. Which outscores the starters, which only put up 39.

One of the brightest points in the game was this poster jam by Dame on Tim Hardaway Jr.

Re: Trailing No More-A Blazers Franchise

After a hard loss in Dallas, the Blazers came into OKC looking for a better outcome. Thunder, coming off a 14 point win vs Houston, looking ready to continue their winning ways against the Blazers. And that they did. After a tight first quarter, which ended in a 36 36 tie, OKC rumbled all of Portland. Portland must have thought the paint was wet, as Thunder easily scored 74. If Portland's D could have stopped them in the paint, the outcome could've been different. Portland shot 43% from the floor, 34% from 3, and 83% from the line, compared to OKC'S 50%, 22%, and 85%.
Newly acquired Holmes played 19 minutes in which he struggled going 1-8 scoring 4 points and only grabbing 3 boards.

Blazers take a day off heading back home to face the Warriors of Golden State before taking a week off for the All Star break.
