Knicks hosted the Atlanta Hawks and the fifth overall pick Trae Young in their home opener. Young didn't have a great shooting performance but led the way for all scorers pouring in 26 points and hitting four three pointers on the night. The Knicks came in as one of the lowest ranked teams in terms of shooting from behind the arc last season, and it looks to be a trend again. DeAndre Jordan led the Knicks in scoring with 16, also grabbing a game hi 13 rebounds.

The Knicks seemed a little disoriented on offense turning the ball over 20 times leading to 34 points off turnovers for the Hawks. The Knicks don't look to be the team to be able to attract many fans to the Garden this season as they have some glaring issues and their only shot of winning may be in the lottery with high school phenom Zion Williamson coming out of the draft.

Knicks will be the away team in their rivalry game with the Brooklyn Nets in their next game. The Nets are coming off a win over the Pistons behind D'Lo 20 point game. The Knicks swept the season series last year and leads the all-time head to head match-up 100-91.

Knicks crossed the bridge to take on D'Angelo Russell and the Brooklyn Nets. The Nets were coming off a 110-108 victory over the Pistons on the road. And tonight were opening the Barclays Stadium for the first time this season. The Knicks began things with a 9-0 run that lasted 6 minutes into the first quarter. Luckily for the Nets the Knicks offense couldn't put the ball in the basket otherwise this game could have turned ugly quick.

Mitchell Robinson, and DeAndre Jordan served up a block party early. But, once Fizdale sat down his two big men the Nets offense began to cook. Brooklyn came out of the half firing on all cylinders outscoring the Nets in the quarter by 12. In the fourth the Knicks got back to defense but couldn't quite get over the hump to pull out the victory.

Jarrett Allen led the game in scoring with 18. He also chipped in with a 13 rebounds. The Nets got a big boost from the bench with Spencer Dinwiddie scoring 15 in just 21 minutes of action. For the Knicks all they had was the duo of Mitch and Dre both getting a double-double.

Knicks head back to their side of the bridge to take on another rival in the Boston Celtics. This rivalry a little more lopsided in favor of the visitors this time as Celtics won the season series 3-1. And hold the edge in the All-time season series at 282-169. Celtics are 1-1 to start the season as they blew out the Raptors 111-63 led by Uncle Drews 37 points.
