A Coach's Journey


This series will be something different. A college hoops account on Twitter named @HeatCheckCBB is currently running a coach simulation for NCAA Basketball. Every D1 School has a coach, and by answering some Google Forms each week, you can manage your team. There is recruiting (which you can do both legally and illegally), firings, the ability to move jobs, preseason tournaments, and so much more.

So I thought I would keep track of what happens in this simulation, both with my team and around the country. This won't be a flashy thread with graphics (since I am not good with that lol) but really more of a way for me to document and keep track of what happens in this sim. And if some of you guys end up enjoying this and want to follow it, then that's great! So, without further ado, let's begin... A Coach's Journey

Texas St 2019-20 Season Preview

Coach dmwendel has taken over at Texas St this season and inherits a very young roster. This year will be a learning year for Coach and his team as they go through a tough nonconference schedule along with Sunbelt play. However, the future for this team is very bright.

Rating System

Each player gets a rating between 0.0 and 10.0 for offense and defense.
>8.5: Elite player
7.0-8.5- Good player on power 6 schools, elite for mid majors
5.0-6.9- Contributor for power 6 schools, good for mid majors
3.5-4.9- Decent
2.0-3.5- Probably shouldn't be on any power 6 schools, could contribute for a midmajor
<2.0: Why do they still have a scholarship?

As you can see, the Bobcats have a very young team this year, with only one upperclassman! Play will have to go through the post, as the Bobcats' stars are junior PF Kevin Walton along with their sophomore C Dan Schaeffer. This team could change a lot next year however, with no one on the team having HIGH loyalty.
