For those interested, the original draft reaction is here, with a much rosier outlook than what ended up happening. Draft experts didn't exactly nail that one.

Big moves in free agency. Remind me, are Trae Young and Zion Williamson still on New York?

I am not a Malik Hightower fan. It seems like he moves from team-to-team to be the 3rd guy, and I'm not sure he's actually contributing what the teams expect of him.

Trae is a free agent still, so likely to be signed before the season starts, but he got traded to Houston last season for Killian Hayes. Zion got traded to Memphis for the Knicks to clear cap space.

Hightower has been traded quite a bit so, so tough to blame him for being on his fourth team. He chose his own spot this time, but has definitely been a bouncing around career thus far.

Re: The Golden Era | A Golden State Warriors Dynasty (NBA 2K20)

Hey folks. I apologize for the long delay since my last post - July, woof - but figured it was long overdue for an update.

A number of things have been going on in my personal life (all good things) that have made it hard for me to find, and frankly want to find the time, to play 2k. I also picked up CFB 2025 and have been truly enjoying that grind - and admittedly enjoyed being able to just play a game and not put in all the additional content that I love to do with 2k.

I normally lose interest in basketball during the summer months and this year was no different. But by the time I started to get the basketball itch again, I realized I just didn't like playing 2k23. The gameplay was spammy and I couldn't do anything on-ball. I'll be the first to tell you I'm not a dribble god, but even in 2k21 I could create on-ball and feel like I was playing an authentic game. In 2k23, I couldn't, which left me spamming the same actions and plays over and over to get buckets. That meant games weren't close and I was shooting 60+% in pretty much every game. I was over it.

Add in the YouTube element and I was feeling like 2k was becoming a chore and if my hobby is a chore, it's not worth doing.

But I've still got the itch to tell this story.

So, what comes next? I went out and bought 2k25 with the idea of seeing if I liked the new ProPlay movement. One game in and I realized I did. So I had a difficult question: do I do a third transfer of this roster or start from scratch?

To be honest, I still don't know. I've started the data gathering of what is necessary for the transfer, but the transfer itself takes a long time and I'm not sure I feel like doing that for a third time. I do plan to start the transfer process but if it takes too long or I get too bored, TGE may have an abbreviated end.

I've always wanted to hit the 30-season mark, and don't love the idea of seeing the final seasons of Jevon Rolle, Jaylen Justice, Deonte and Darius Dixon, and every other character playing out off-screen.

In short, we'll see. There definitely won't be any development on this until December, but will continue to keep you all in the loop. I apologize for not being here these last few months but as always appreciate everyone who has followed along since this whole shebang began a few years ago.

Looking forward to talking soon and providing more info.

I can 100% relate. Your storytelling and content is amazing, but when it's a part-time job on top of all your other responsibilities, it can be a lot!

Even if you just need to type up a few summary posts, telling the story of some seasons, that could be a worthy end to this journey.

Not sure what your PC situation is, but there are ways to edit on PC that are way faster than manual input on console. Now that 2K25 is next-gen on PC and rosters are cross-platform, it could be something to consider re: a potential transfer!

I truly wish this were an option but I'm still on console. PC has always interested me but unlikely that comes any time soon, so for now I'm stuck with potentially doing the slow route. Appreciate the option though!
