Feeling like deja vu for sure. Not just to game 1, but also to last year.

It's weird that the narrative about Rolle's ability to hit shots and close out games existed given what he's done since then, but that's the nature of the NBA.

How are those teams so far over the cap? That's wild. 60M+ over and missing the playoffs? Embarassing. How are your Warriors not over the cap?

I was going to echo those same sentiments. How are you guys not over the tax line with the talent you have on your roster? Not only incredible asset management but finance management as well.

We’re under the tax because Rolle is massively underpaid ($30M) and Dixon is still on his rookie deal. Kuminga is the highest at $42M so it worked out that we just don’t have a ton of huge contracts. The Evan Mobley sign-and-trade two summers ago really cleared our books out too and the Jalen Blackman and Patrick Morris deals were basically cost cutters too so I don’t have a lot of big contracts.

That’ll change for us in the future, which will be covered in a post but admittedly this playoffs has been very disappointing from a competitive standpoint. Things ahead to address that because the way this is going, it’s just not fun to play or, I assume, to follow when someone just wins all the time. Not realistic and makes me feel like a 12 year old who stacks the deck in my favor.

As for other teams, way too many inflated contracts. When I was on 2k21, a bug occurred that took away the luxury tax, so teams could spend whatever. There was some bad contracts to players who didn’t deserve them, so I’m hoping to right the ship this off-season league-wide.
