NBA 2K - Georgiafan's 3 year realistic rebuilds / remasters

ECF Part 2

The Wizards were up 3 going into the 4th quarter in the pivotal game 5. New York then got hot in the 4th and with 5 minutes to go had a 8 point lead. Beal would hit a 3 to cut the lead to 2 however just 2 minutes were on the clock. Washington wouldn't be able to come back and must win 2 games in a row to advance. A tough night on offense for Washington with the leading scorer having just 19 points. Magic had a decent stat line 18-7-11, but shoot just 8 of 23. Mitchell Robinson was the MVP 12 points, 18 rebounds, 3 steals and 6 blocks. Randall was also good with 22-12-7 while Fournier scored 20.

Game 6 saw Washington get a 8 point win behind Magic's 24-4-5. Beal and Collins added 17 each. Randall was the lone bright spot for NY with 15-11-10.

It all came down to game 7 again and at half the game was tied. With 4 minutes to go in the 3rd it was still tied. Washington was going with an all-bench lineup for a bit and Forbes hits a big 3 to make it a 5 point lead. Beal then comes back into the game who surprisingly has 0 points so far. He would hit 3 then a few more baskets and the lead was all the way to 12 to start the 4th.

Bowen hits a contested 3 early on Washington was looking good up 15. Irving hits a 3 to cut the lead to 6 with 4 to go. Irving had 5 fouls and when Magic sees him on Collins quickly gives him the ball which resulted in the 6th foul. Isaiah Quickly for NY hits a 3 to make it a 4 point game. Beal gets a dunk off a great pass from Bamba to seal the game with 5o seconds to go.

Washington survives a tough gritty Knicks team and will be going to the NBA finals. Collins leads the team in scoring with 25 and added 10 rebounds. Beal did nothing early then rallied late when it mattered. Magic was back to his usual triple double self. Bamba gets the game ball here 14 and 18 and closed the game out as Rodman struggled.

Finals Preview

Portland was down 3 to 2 and came back to win the final two games. In the big game 7 win Bird and Penny scored over 20. Then veteran Marcus Morris stepped up big time with 21 points off the bench in limited minutes. Had Ben Simmons and Jared Allen not been hurt San Antionio likely wins the West.

The story of Magic and Bird has been talked about a lot so we will not go over that again. Bird is the star of the team and finished the regular season with 22-12-6 with 43/42/85 shooting. He hasn’t been as good in the postseason just 18-11-6 on 37/39/83. He has A+ shooting and grades in the A’s for nearly every offensive category. He can also defend and has B+ playmaking. The only hole in his game his F athleticism.

The trio in the back court is arguably the best in the NBA lead by 1st overall pick Penny Hardaway. The 6’7 PG has A’s in scoring inside and playmaking and fills up all 3 major stats. Rod Harper is a 6’6 elite lock down defender. Jamal Murray has won 2 straight 6th man of the year awards and provides offense.

Harper isn’t the only defensive wing defender they have two more A+ guys in Talen Horton Tucker and Normal Powell. Powell is also a threat on offense and shoot 45% from 3 in the regular season.

Arvidis Sabonis is the starting C while he hasn’t developed as much as we thought. He did average 11 and 11 during the regular season. He is a high IQ player, but no elite traits just yet. His size at 7’3 279 is going to be a real issue for the 6’9 Collins.

They are weak at backup C and Marcus Morris gets most of the minutes. He has been one of the best shooters in the whole league the last 5 years finishing at 46% this year. He has only shoot 33% during the playoffs. Scott Dunlap a 6’10 versatile athlete also will get a few minutes.

If a injury happens Portland has some guys ready to join the party in backup PG Springer. and SG Bryce Barnes. Both lot of time during the regular season and Barnes is a 6’6 athlete that can shoot. Springer is a solid dependable backup type.

Portland is a fun team so I was hoping they would win. Not only for the bird and magic rivalry It will be a great challenge. I would pick them as favorites as they are deeper then me.

Finals - Game 1

The game was close at half and Washington took a 4-point lead into the 4th. Portland would take the lead in the mid 4th. It would go back to tied with 4 minutes to go.

Beal's 32 point put them up 2 with 2:30 on the clock. Bird hits a open 3 and Portland takes the lead back 1 minute later. Powell hits a wide open 3 and Portland is now up 4 with just 48 seconds remaining. Bird misses a open 3 which would have won the game and Washington is down 2. Beal would tie the game with a clutch mid-range jumper. Ron Harper has the chance to be hero and despite a big game misses this one and its free basketball.

Bird hits a 3 and Washington is down 5 with 2 minutes remaining. Sabonis gets a dunk and that looks to all but seal it. If the last play didn't then Harpers still and dunk officially gives Portland game 1.

A pretty even game stat wise, Washington wins the rebound battle and loses the turnovers. Bird was big in this one scoring 27 on a near triple double and going 5 of 8 from 3. They got two 20 plus games from Sabonis and Harper something that isn't going to happen every game.

Beal played his best game of the playoffs with 40 points as the jump shoot was working tonight. Magic had 18 and 13 however struggled shooting. Bamba was big again off the bench while Kispert was a ghost.

Finals - Game 2

Washington is up 2 with just 3 minutes remaining in the game. Beal hits a big 3 and now the lead is at 4. Beal would continue to show off his clutch traits and seal the game with a fadeaway.

Wizards got the benefit from more FTs in this game. Rebounding was another big win being +23 for the game including +11 on offense. Penny had 29 with 9 assist while Bird was held in check. Magic outplayed Bird in this one with 27-8-8 even added 5 steals. Beal and Collins both were at their season averages. Bamba was the star of the bench grabbing 12 rebounds. Speaking of rebounds Rodman was a animal tonight grabbing 18.

What a series. You had a big hand in Portland's rebuild as well via the trade with OKC (aka me) and some other stuff. This is the kind of series that would have the media going crazy with two young teams.

Yea If I was picking a opponent to play it would have been Portland. They had all the draft picks, but I didn't think they would get to this level that fast. I think the major thing with them was just getting lucky in the lottery with the 2nd pick for Bird and 1st for Penny. It would be a dream for them to face year 2 in the finals. I can't remember off the top of my head when it was they faced off in real life in the finals.

I do need to get with you and decide about what you want to do with Lillard before the offseason. It will prob be early next week before I get to that part.
