I think I just went with who the CPU picked for the all defense teams. However Lamelo was always in the running for the defense teams for some reason during the 6 years. Charolotte never even made the playoffs despite monster stats by him.

Wizards Luck Out In Round 1

We have said for years that Detroit was one of our favorite teams in the league. They beat Atlanta in the play in to get the 7th seed so they will be our 1st round opponent.

We end up getting a major break when we drew them the reason being injuries. They will have 3 G's miss the series including star player Cade Cunningham. The other are former top 5 pick and starter Sydney Moncrief and quality reserve PG Saban Lee. They will have to give minutes to former Pacer two-way player Duane Washington who is a borderline NBA player. They do have some shooting with Floyd and SF De Luca, but will be very thin at G.

1st Round Results

The 1st game was close, and Washington wins closely by 9 points scoring 125. One key team stat was Washington shoot 15 more FT's. Beal led in scoring with 27 and added 9 assists. Magic was 24-7-7 with quiet games from Collins and Rodman. Porzingis played well off the bench 16 and 14. Thier big man former 1st overall 7'2 C Cody Pierce had a triple double. Goodwin and Forbes both shoot it well in limited minutes combining for 8 of 11.

Game 2 Washington wins by 20 scoring 132 and shooting 51% as a team. A rare +8 block shoots for the team. Magic was the only player over 20 with a great line 27-8-7. Collins was 2nd in line tonight 19-10-8 on 7 of 10 shooting. Both C's for them Pierce and Isaiah Stewart had over 20 with Hayes having 14 assists.

Game 3 saw Washington win big 105 to 89. Durant with his 1st impactful game 22-9-4 with 3 blocks. Porzingis added 7 and 11 off the bench and Beal was quiet. Magic held fairly quiet with 19-5-11. Collins had a notable game 16-5-2-2-2. Defense was the story though as Detroit shoot just 38%.

Washington makes it a sweep taking game 4 easily despite shooting just 24% from 3. Magic was 23-5-9 with 2 steals and Beal beat him out tonight 22-10-9. Collins again was solid for his role 14-10-6 with 2 blocks. Rodman grabbed 12 rebounds.

2nd Round Results

Once again Washington catches a major break in the 2nd round and will face the supposed to be rebuilding Chicago Bulls. They have 2 of our former players in Myles Turner and Jared Vanderbilt who both play big minutes.

Game 1 saw Washington win easy 138 to 113 so plenty of highlights in this one. Durant scores 36 on 13 of 21 shooting. Collins had 20 and 8 with Rodman grabbing 18 rebounds. Magic was at 18 and 15. The major news and the good breaks keep on coming for Washington. Lonzo Ball starting PG and best defender on the team the perfect guy to guard Magic got hurt and will miss the rest of the series. Chicago does have 2 other quality PG's in Coby White and Schroder.

In the mid 3rd quarter, it was a 1-point game. A few minutes later after a Bruce Bowen 3 the lead was at 10 for Washington. When the 3rd ended it was back to 5 points, but all starters for Washington was rested and could play the whole 4th quarter. Collins hits a 3 and the lead is still comfortable in the mid 4th. Rodman seals the game with a offense rebound and dunk over 2 guys.

It was another win in game 2 108 to 92 with nobody on Chicago scoring over 16. Magic takes advantage of no Lonzo with 25-10-12. Collins checks in at 19 and 10. Porzingis was hurt so will miss a few games, Kevin Duckworth filled in great 10 and 8 in 19 minutes.

Game 3 was closer, but Washington did win by 7 points to take a 3-0 lead. Durant had 24-7-8 with Magic 17-6-9 and 1 block and 2 steals. Duckworth again fills in well with 12 and 10.

Game 4 is one to just rip up and throw away as Chicago wins by 50 yes 50. Washington scores just 80 with everyone under 17 points. Chicago has 8 guys in double figures.

Everyone had Washington closing it out here and that wasn't the case as it was a 106 to 93 loss. Collins scored 23 and Magic 14-7-11. Washinton takes a 3-2 lead going into game 6.

It was a close game in the 4th, but Washington goes on a mini run. Lavine hits a 3 to cut the lead to 8 with 3 to go. Collins hits a big 3 off a Magic Double team to seal the game and series. Magic was the man here 27-7-9 with 3 steals and 1 block. It was a balanced effort behind him 5 guys 13 to 19. Rodman was solid as well with 6 and 13

ECF - Part 1

Washington takes game one 102 to 96. Washington didn't have anyone score over 20 and Magic had a near triple double with 15-9-10.

Philly tied it up with a 112 to 99 win in game 2. Embiid and starting PF Holmes both had 20 & 10 games with Maxey getting 13 assist. Beal and Durant both had over 20 for Washington.

Washington takes game 3 a 7 point win. Beal and Durant both again scored over 20. Magic was bad in this one just 14-6-9 with 8 turnovers.

Keeping with the theme Philly wins game 4 to tie it up behind a balanced scoring game. Magic was again not that good and Durant and Beal both scored under 20.

Washington takes game 5 a 109 to 90 victory. Beal scores 28 on 10 of 18 shooting. Magic bounces back 20-8-9 with 3 steals. 3-point specialist Forbes has 12 off the bench. Vintage Rodman play with 19 rebounds.

It was game 6 so if Washington wins they go to the NBA finals for the 2nd straight year. Yep, you guessed it Philly wins 106-91 to force a game 7. Embiid had one of these better games of the series with 18-15. Starting SF Carson Dean had 18 with 5 steals while backup C Sheppard (79 ovr) has 18 rebounds. Collins for Washington has 20.

The major news was for the 3rd straight series Washington catches a break. Starting PG Maxey got hurt and will miss game 7.

ECF - Game 7

The 1st quarter ended with it being a 2-point game. Durant was cold to start the game and doesn't hit his first shot till the 2nd quarter. Durant scores again and Wizards take a comfortable lead and Magic is red hot. When halftime came Magic already had a triple double and Wizards had a 5-point lead. Embiid also just 2 points and 1 rebound.

The mid 3rd the game was back to being tied and when the quarter ended it was a 1-point game. With 9 minutes to go Magic gets his 16th assist and the lead for Washington is up to 8 with 9 minutes to go. Philly would come back to tie it with 6 minutes to go even taking a small lead shortly after this. Rodman gets a rebound hits Magic for a long outlet pass and Washington takes a 7-point lead with 5 to go. A few minutes later Durant would hit a jumper. Washington would go on to survive and win the Eastern Conference.

The injury to Maxey turned out to be huge as former mid 1st round pick Nick Van Exel had about as bad of a game as humanly possible. He went 1 for 17 and missed all 10 3's. Embiid also should get just as much heat 11 points and 5 rebounds in a game 7 isn't enough. His backup Sheppard played well.

A All-time performance by Magic 24 points, 15 rebounds and 20 assist also 3 steals and just 4 turnovers. Beal, Durant and Collins all 3 had good games. Rodman did his job with 14 rebounds.
