Re: NBA 2K - Georgiafan's 3 year realistic rebuilds / remasters
Recapping the Brutal 5 Game Stretch Memphis came into this stretch 7-3 so really as long as you can win 2 out of 5 here you will take it. I've hid the boxscores in spoilers to make it a little easier to read Grizzles 119 - Nets 127 Brooklyn is tough to beat with their 3 stars and it was a close game until the end. Ja and Chris both score over 20 with bad games from Brooks and Jonas.
Spoiler
![]() Grizzles 124 - Celtics 112 Ja was fantastic in this one taking advantage of Kemba guarding him and hitting 14 FT's. JJJ had 15 and 16 while Jonas gets 21 rebounds. Konchar joined the rotation tonight and hit five 3's. Stefan had 9 assist off the bench
Spoiler
![]() Grizzles 120 - 76ers 99 A blowout win despite a off game from Ja. It was a balanced game with 7 guys scoring in double digits. Willy Cauley Stein also played for a bit and was effective.
Spoiler
![]() Grizzles 114 - Mavs 117 A tough loss that saw Memphis blow a lead getting outscored by 9 in the 4th quarter. Bane got extra playing time scoring 19 in 25 minutes. Outside of him Ja's supporting cast was off a little.
Spoiler
![]() Grizzles 118 - Lakers 116 Memphis survives with a 2 point win so they go 3-2 in this 5 game stretch. Clarke was the man scoring 27 and leading the team in shots. Bane didn't take advantage of the extra minutes tonight and was a dud. Mullin was against consistent scoring in the teens.

Re: NBA 2K - Georgiafan's 3 year realistic rebuilds / remasters
Memphis Has A Big 3 Last year Ja was the only star on the team and as expected he is even better this year. His scoring, assist and more importantly 3 point % is all improved. It didn't take long for Chris Mullin to become a star if for nothing else then the recognition being drafted 2nd overall. He is at 19 a game and shooting over 40% from deep on 6 attempts per game. It now appears like we have our 3rd member of the big 3 in Brandon Clarke. He is having a breakout type season averaging 18.8 points, 10.2 rebounds while shooting 54% from the field and 44% from 3 in 31 minutes. He is still a offense first player, but he has improved on defense and is respectable guarding the perimeter. He is also athletic which is always a plus. They make for a fun trio on offense with Ja's ability to drive and finish at the rim. Then you have Chris shooting ability to stretch the defense. Brandon can shoot and score inside and can post up some on smaller 4's. They are definitely a offense big 3 and while they aren't world beaters on defense are a becoming a heck of a trio on offense. Its a huge reason why Memphis is 14-5 with the best offense in the league. We are currently taking request for nicknames with the leader in the clubhouse being "Run MMC". ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Re: NBA 2K - Georgiafan's 3 year realistic rebuilds / remasters
2022 Surprises & Disappointments - Part 1 Evan Fourner is a #1 scoring option He signed for pretty big $ in Detroit and so far its been a perfect marriage. Detroit is never going to be able to land a star and Evan is atleast scoring like one. He is scoring 23 per game while shooting 45% from the field and 3. They finally have Griffin's contract coming off the book so the future looks bright for Detroit. Klay Shows No Signs Off Rust He is back playing after his two major injuries and its like nothing ever happened despite a lower overall grade by the experts. He is scoring 24 per game and shooting in the mid 40's. The bad news Golden State still isn't winning despite adding two lottery prospects on top of Wiseman from last year. Knicks Are Good ? They were suppose to be one of the worst teams in the NBA we had them in the tanking section. They are 15-8 and well in the playoff race in the East. They came into the season with 30 million in unused cap space and just spent 13 of that on Danny Green who was a FA waiting for the right spot. Danny had a big year last year and will start as Kevin Knox wasn't getting it done. The front court of Robinson and Randall is playing great and Robinson is a all star lock. The rookie PG they traded up in the draft is averaging 16 & 8. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Thunder Still Awful They jumped up to our trying to win ranking this year after adding two top 5 rookies that were NBA ready. They also added Elfred Payton who finished top 5 in assist last year and have a decent bench. They are still awful with just 3 wins in 24 games. Nobody outisde of their big 3 of Malone, Schrempf and SGA are scoring in double figures. They still have some cap space and all kinds of 1st so could make another move this year. Ball Brothers Bad Lonzo signed on for 18 million per year and that contract has quickly looked like a bad one. He is playing 25 minutes per game with averages of PPG 6.3, REB 4.9, AST 7.3. He is also shooting 29$% from the field and from 3. The Pelicans have depth at G so they are expected to trade him soon maybe to the above Thunder. Lamelo in year 2 hasn't took the leap everyone projected while playing 30 minutes a game which is 8 minutes more then last year. His stats are PPG 11.9, REB 6.0, AST 6.6, FG% 36, 3% 27. The Hornets about made the playoffs last year and are a fringe playoff team again Time For Bulls To Blow It Up The decided to run it back paying Makkanen big $ and not trading Levine after drafting Joe Dumars. They also have two veterans coming off the bench in Demarcus Cousins and Otto Porter. They are still one of the worst teams in the NBA with a 7-15 record. The big man pairing of Markkanen and Wendall Carter just isn't leading to wins. They also have Levine who is about to be a FA and they just drafted someone in the top 5 at his position. Its time for them to blow it up. |

Re: NBA 2K - Georgiafan's 3 year realistic rebuilds / remasters
5 Possible Trade Targets Memphis Major Trade Asset Own 1st round pick Utah 1st round pick (protected 1-5, currently they are 9-12) Dillon Brooks - 78 ovr, 12.2 million under contract for next year Justice Winslow - 76 ovr, 13 million expiring contract 6.5 Million in cap space Memphis Minor Trade Asset Grayson Allen - 76 overall, 4.2 million expiring De'Anthony Melton - 78 ovr, 8.4 million for multiple years Kyle Anderson -76 ovr, 9.9 million expiring contract -------------------------------------------------------------- Kris Middleton
Spoiler
![]() Per 36 stats PPG 22.2, REB 6.7, AST 5.6, STL 1.3, FG% 46, 3% 38, FT% 93 Rough Trade Value 4* Rough Trade Package Brooks, Winslow, Allen, Melton, 1st round pick Why It Doesn't Make Sense This one is the least likely so we will talk about it first. The bucks are coming off a championship and currently 16-7 so trading their 2nd best player who is under contract for a while is questionable. Trading him in the offseason after a failed repeat could make more sense. Why It Does Make Sense With Ginnas under contract for a long time and a title in the bag now may be the time to look long term. This roster over achieved and its gotten a lot worse since last year. Its a old roster Lopez and D.J both took big steps back and are under contract for another year. Bobby Portis is on another team. Divincenzo and Connaughton are just guys so not really key role players. Jrue is in the final year of his deal and is over 30 and has started to decline as well. I don't think they want to pay him 30 million per and have a way out as he helped them win a ring. This would allow them to hit the reset button and get much younger with role players and 1st round picks. Kris is now 30 and has 2 more years remaining at huge $. What He Brings To Memphis A two player that can defend and score at all 3 levels. Mullin would start at the 2 as Kris is a 3/4 where Memphis needs more of a 2/3. The former all star is the best player they can bring in this trade deadline. ----------------------------------------------------- Matisse Thybulle
Spoiler
![]() Per 36 stats PPG 9.1, REB 2.7, AST 1.1, STL 2.5, BLK 1.1, FG% 36, 3% 29, FT% 52 Rough Trade Value 3* Rough Trade Package Allen or Melton, 1st round pick Why It Doesn't Make Sense Philly doesn't have mid tier salaries to trade and Memphis doesn't want Tobas Harris. So your not going to be able to do a 3 for 1 time trade. If your going to trade a 1st and a quality player for him then you kinda need to start him and play him 25 minutes per game. The difference of going from Melton to him may not be that big of a leap. Why It Does Make Sense Philly has enough defense with Ben, Joel and this years 1st round pick. They could use some more offense firepower or just replace him with Melton and get a 1st round pick Kerr. What He Brings To Memphis He is the best young defense player in the game and one of the very few true defense specialist in the league. With a lot of offense on the team you don't need your 5th starter to be able to score. He would be super valuable come playoff time when defense and matchups matter more. ----------------------------------------------------- Zach Lavine
Spoiler
![]() Per 36 stats PPG 23.3, REB 6.1, AST 5.5, STL 1.4, FG% 43, 3% 37, FT% 79 Rough Trade Value 3.5* Rough Trade Package Winslow, Allen, 1st round pick Why It Doesn't Make Sense Chicago can probably get two 1st from someone and Memphis isn't likely to give up both because his defense. Memphis doesn't need any scoring and if someone gets hurt they can just play Konchar. Why It Does Make Sense He has to be traded they just drafted a SG in the top 5 and its time for them to shake things up. What He Brings To Memphis He is a great offense player still in his prime that can score from all kind of ways. Memphis has plenty of cap space to sign him to a long term deal. ----------------------------------------------------- Eric Bledsoe
Spoiler
![]() Per 36 stats PPG 16.1, REB 3.9, AST 7.3, STL 1.4, FG% 43, 3% 34, FT% 66 Rough Trade Value 2.5* Rough Trade Package Anderson, Allen, lottery protected 1st round pick Why It Doesn't Make Sense The bigger issue for them is trading Ball so they might not want to trade both starting G's while a lock to make the playoffs again. He has a team option so they could just decline that since they aren't going to get a major asset back for him. Why It Does Make Sense He is 32 and his play is declining so trading a 1st round pick even if its a lottery protected one for a rental is questionable. What He Brings To Memphis A quality player that is a two player and can fit in without having to be the star. If a injury was to happen then he would be the safe and cheap option. ----------------------------------------------------- Victor Oladipo
Spoiler
![]() Per 36 stats PPG 23.3, REB 6.1, AST 5.5, STL 1.4, FG% 43, 3% 37, FT% 79 Rough Trade Value 3.5* Rough Trade Package Brooks, Winslow, Allen, 1st round pick Why It Doesn't Make Sense How much of a upgrade is he over Brooks ? Will he keep up this level of play for the next 2 years? It weakens your bench as Houston doesn't have other players you want. Why It Does Make Sense Houston is tanking this year and have their own 1st plus more draft picks. This is the year for them to tank as they out right have their own 1st. He just signed a 3 year deal at 30 million per this past offseason. What He Brings To Memphis Memphis would get a #1 defense option that can also score while having just enough shooting ability. He would slide into your starting 2 spot and your lineup would be set for the next few years. |

Re: NBA 2K - Georgiafan's 3 year realistic rebuilds / remasters
Trade Alert Thunder's Take (3-23) They tried to move away from the tanking and win and that hasn't worked out. They trade a top 10 protected 1st in the upcoming draft to take the chance on Lonzo. They still have their own pick plus the clippers 1st this year and after adding two top 5 rookies last year didn't need a 3rd. He is still just 24 and grades out very well in playmaking and perimeter defense. They don't need him to be a scorer, but he has to shoot better then the 29% he currently is. Age wise he fits perfectly with their young core. His contract isn't a worry as they have all kinds of cap space going forward. Its worth a gamble with so many 1st round picks going forward also their record is bad they are all but locked in to another top 10 pick which is pretty much a lock to be a C. Pelican's Take They couldn't trade him at the deadline last year as they were one of the better teams in the West. They ended up giving him 18 million per year and he has played awful this year and recently lost his starting job. They get out of his contract as Diallo is a expiring and create a 11 million trade exception. The fit just wasn't working as they had to many people that were non shooters as they are 27th in the league in 3 point %. This opens up the door for more playing time for Kira Lewis a super fast 2nd year player and Nickel Alexander Walker. This also gives them three 1st round picks in the draft so expect them to make a trade up. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Re: NBA 2K - Georgiafan's 3 year realistic rebuilds / remasters
Philly was like the 8th seed last year and this year is under .500 so the stage is set for them to trade him as despite him and Ben both being 1st team all defense. They also have a rookie with B+ defense to fill his minutes. I think they could use Dillon brooks, but the math doesn’t work on that trade as they don’t have many mid tier salaries to trade bigger then 5 million ans I don’t want tobas. If I give up allen and a 1st then I have a even bigger minutes crunch then I have. So I would have to give up Melton who has A perimeter defense so not sure it s a huge leap. |
