Grizzles Vs 76ers

We were going to do a longer in depth review, but Memphis took a big lead in this one and never looked back. The bench saw a lot of playing time until a 4th quarter run by Philly saw them have to re enter the game.

It was a offense game lead by Ja's 31 and 11 with the other members of the new big 3 getting 20 and 21. Somehow someway Memphis has to find a way to get Konchar some regular minutes in 27 minutes he scored 19 while going 5 of 10 from 3. His name isn't listed in the box score but Willie Cauley Stein grabbed 8 rebounds and blocked a few shots. So if a injury happens to one of the bigs WCS can easily join the rotation and play his role. The rumored name Thybulle had a ugly offensive game for the 76ers.

Memphis Update - Mid. Feb

Memphis is currently enjoying a breakout season with a 21-9 record which is good for 3rd in the West.

Ja is a all star game lock when you factor in team record and his greatly improved 3 point shoot. They don't need him to be a sniper from deep just average and be able to hit the open ones. He is averaging 23 and 10 while shooting over 50% from the field.

Chris has been everything you could have hoped for the goal was 40% from 3 for him and he is currently at 44% on 7.5 per game. He doesn't add much outside of scoring, but 19 a game as a rookie is impressive.

Clarke we just wrote about in detail 17&10 a game as the starting 4. Him and and JJJ are both shooting over 40% from deep with about 5 attempts per game. It seems like Jackson is playing better then his stats say. The ability for both of them to shoot in the new offense system is key. Jonas is in a contract year and is playing like he wants a raise. His 13 rebounds a game is top 5 and is getting you 12 points. If this trio can stay helathy and keep this up Memphis is going to be tough to beat.

Dillon Brooks stats are down, but so are his minutes. This may cause Memphis to experiment with him as the starting 2 the next few games. Bane and Konchar have been solid as well both shooting good from deep. Konchar is shooting better from 3 then he is from 2. Bane is playing good enough to where you have to play him just not good enough to rule out a upgrade. Winlsow is only seeing about 14 minutes per night, but his per 36 stats are nice, The rookie PG has made a impact another one only playing about 14 minutes per night.

Melton is only playing 10 minutes per night so doesn't have stats come playoff time he will be more valuable because of defense. Kyle Anderson and Willy Cauley Stein have both been solid when they saw the court so if a injury happens they can easily get 10 minutes a night. Grayson Allen and Jontay Porter haven't saw any action this year.

Is the play of Mullin and Morant making you consider going for a fourth year and beyond, or do you think you'll stick with the three-year project? Are you still going to restart in 2021 if you do? I think it'd be cool to see how the Grizz play after you leave a take over another, but that's just my thought.

I am really enjoying this team which is probably why I'm going at slower pace for season 2 then 1. I am still going to change teams since that was the major point of it all and it will keep things fresh. I can already see its going to be tough to do as I'm attached to see how players develop.

I have been thinking about when I swap teams instead of restarting to 2021 keeping on with the same save file for season 4-6. A few benefits of that would be seeing how Memphis does without me. Since I make all of the moves for the CPU teams its going to be easy to latch on to a new team and be hooked from the start. The last major one is the rookies I would draft when I change teams I would get 3 years to use instead of 2. A smaller thing is it would allow me to think more long term with teams like the Bulls who need to blow it up.

If I did do that for 4,5,6 then I would likely hit the reset button for team 3. The only kind of downside I see is it could be a little odd with so many retro type players in the league by years 4-6. But on the draft classes about half of the 1st round are fictional so I don't think that's a major issue plus I'm enjoying using the Mullins of the world. Once I get the trade deadline over I'll do a top 5 most interesting team article
.
What does everyone think ?

Grizzles vs Kings

We are going to have a full game recap vs the Kings who are 11-22 and without Kelly Oubre. This game will have a twist as Ja, Mullin, Clarke and Brooks are all inactive. JJJ and Jonas are active, but won't play because of load management. The Kings are expected to trade Harrison Barnes at the deadline likely just dumping his salary.

The first quarter ended with Memphis down 1 with Winslow grabbing 8 rebounds. The 2nd quarter saw Konchar and Grayson Allen get red hot and take the lead. Memphis went to the locker room up 9 and shooting 57% from 3. The trio of shooters Allen/Konchar/ Bane all scored in double figures. Stefan had 8 points and 7 assist while holding Fox to just 8 points.

Jontay Porter was the backup 5 in this game and hit a 3 to take the lead back with 5 minutes to go in the 3rd. The quarter ended with it being a 1 point game. Stefan drew the 5th foul on Fox with 10 minutes to go in the game. That's where things started to go south as they tried to get Fox fouled out and couldn't draw the 6th foul. Buddy Hield who has played amazing the last 2 years would go off in the 4th quarter and lead Sacramento to the win.

The 3 point shoot was working in this still somehow Memphis lost. We keep on saying it somehow Konchar has to get more playing time leading the team with 26 points. Allen may have helped his trade value and with a expiring contract would fit on any team. The rookie PG struggled bad on offense this is a tough matchup for him. Fox is the only player in the league faster then him and then he has a guy two foot taller then him protecting the paint. He still had 12 assist and played good defense. The two player Will Guerrero didn't do much in 12 minutes so looks like he isn't ready to contribute this year. Porter was solid in 20 minutes.

5'9 vs 7'7

Re: NBA 2K - Georgiafan's 3 year realistic rebuilds / remasters

March Rookie Report

We spent a lot of time talking about this draft class so we wanted to do a quick mid season check in. When your looking at stats for rookies its hard to judge because it mostly comes down to who is getting playing time and what team they are on. We did want to touch on a few people.

The highest guy in the scoring that isn't getting big minutes is Milwaukee's Gilbert Richmond who i am just now noticing is ranked 11th and left out of the picture. His per 36 stats are 23 & 9 and has been the starting C lately with Brook Lopez hurt. He was the 30th pick in the draft and is playing better then he should by looking at ratings. Sam Vincent is getting 26 minutes a night and hasn't produced much. Another rookie Clipper that is starting is Daniel Oturu. While neither of them are playing amazing they are still in contention for the playoffs with Kawhi out basically the whole year. They are rumors they could be trading for John Wall. Warriors top 10 pick Viana is getting big minutes and has just been moved back to the bench. Rockets late 1st round pick Drew Cheeks is another that's getting a lot of playing time as they rebuild.

We don't want to go over everyone so here is a few more before we go. Charles Oakley is doing exactly what everyone expected averaging 5 points and 12 rebounds with the Pistons overachieving so far. The Knicks have found their PG of the future and this could be the last year they are rebuilding. If you remember the Knicks and Pistons made a draft day trade which has worked out for both teams. Patrick Ewing has been slightly worse then we expected and the team has struggled. The Hornets have found their C of the future.
