Draft Combine

Stock Up

Staurt Goodwin - Fastest
The fastest player at the combine always turns heads espically when your 6'3 and can shoot.

Spoiler

Joey Carter - Vertical
The defense specialist isn't likely to go till the late 2nd. A 44 inch vertical will turn heads and should have a career for many years even if he never sees much playing time.

Spoiler

Sebastian Tatum
He lead the class in 3-point shooting for standing NBA range. Thatwasn't expected many believed that would be Chuck Person or Petrovich. His lane sprints were also the 3rd highest. He now looks like a potential starter down the line that can be had outside the lottery.

Shawn May - Wingspan
Not a lot is known about Shawn May though he did play in the hoop summit game and had 9 rebounds in 23 minutes. We always look for wingspan from SF's and Shawn is the leader of the position. He has a crazy 7'7 wingspan at 6'10 222. Indiana will bring him in for a private workout.

Terry Cassell
The 7'2 is already a top 5 pick so he can't improve his stock to much. He surprisingly had 24 bench press reps at just 222 pounds. That was good for 3rd place.

Spoiler

Shawn May - Wingspan

Mock Draft - 1 to 10 With Player Pics

Things can change here is the final mock draft with some player ratings below in the spoilers

1. Pistons - C Cody Pierce - 78 ovr
The Pistons go with the big 7'2 athletic C and would just need to add some wings in FA. Leb Bias is also still in consideration
Spoiler

2. Thunder - Len Bias - 77 ovr
They go BPA and that's the athletic Bias who can do everything except shoot 3's. They also have picks 17 and 28 to trade up and take either a PG or C.
Spoiler

3. Rockets - PG Ron Harper - 75 ovr
They don't need a big that can't shoot after last years draft picks. So they add the best defender in the class
Spoiler

4. Pelicans - C Terry Cassell - 76 ovr
This is a great luxury pick and they could look to try and add a proven player. Drafting a big that can't shoot with Zion is Iffy and Jonas was on a All NBA team. Cassell is the BPA.
Spoiler

5. Magic - PF/C Marcus Holmes- 75 ovr
A smaller and athletic type C and the Magic are a team that can go BPA. This is the toughest call as they have young bodies at every spot.
Spoiler

6. Kings - PF Danny Dunn - 75 ovr
They are obviously going with a non Guard here so a high end big prospect makes sense
Spoiler

7. Pacers - SF Chuck Person - 75 ovr
Indiana needs some shooting if Chuck is on the board. If he is off the board look for a Big or a trade down.
Spoiler

8. Spurs - C Marcus Aldridge - 73 overall
Upon farther review Alridge isn't the guy here still them taking a PF/C is the biggest lock in the draft.
Spoiler

9. Wolves - Scott Skiles - 75 ovr
The value lines up here for them to take a PG as Beverly is a FA and Dlo can play SG.
Spoiler

10. Hornets - C Brad Daughter - 75 ovr
This pick has been in trade rumors, but Brad is going in the top 10 somewhere.
Spoiler

Re: NBA 2K - Georgiafan's 3 year realistic rebuilds / remasters

Mock Draft - 11 to 19

11. Trailblazers - C Marc Adams - 77 ovr
Blazers are prime candidates to trade back and pick up future picks as they reshuffle things. Adams has a high overall so could go sooner
Spoiler

12. Raptors - C Arvidis Sabonis- 74 ovr
Another team that could trade back and they have a need for a C. Arvidis could need some time, but has potential and they do well with foreign players.
Spoiler

13. 76ers -Jeff Hornacek - 73 ovr
Rumors they could package this with Tobas in a trade. They have more of a need at F then G, but Jeff would be a sure bet.
Spoiler

14. Hawks - PG Mark Price - 76ovr
They picker higher then expected and still haven't found a backup PG to trae. They should be in a good position to do that here. Mark is a luxury here.
Spoiler

5. Mavs - PF Istvan Garvay - 75 ovr
They just need young talent that are good and the big situation is kind of a mess
Spoiler

16. Grizzles - PG Gus Watts - 73 ovr
Another team in trade talks as they have three 1st. They could move up or ship this off to a vet. Gus shined in the rookie summit game and he could anchor the 2nd unit for years to come with his offense.
Spoiler

17. Thunder - PG Earl Harvey - 75 ovr
It doesn't look like they go PG at 2 so they nab one here. More of a 2nd unit guy with his lack of defense, but a upgrade over Theo and Jerome.
Spoiler

18. Nuggets - PF/C Dennis Rodman - 72 overall
We have no clue where Rodman will go his overall suggest likely lower then this. We mostly just wanted to talk about the odd prospect. They could also use a wing.
Spoiler

19. Bulls - Carson Dean - 74 ovr
They need a starting 4 bad and Carson has wingspan and athletic ability. A raw player that could go higer to Philly.
Spoiler

Others

PG Sebastian Tatum - 74 overall
Spoiler

PG Stuart Goodwin - 71 overall
Spoiler

PG Nate Mcmillian - 71 ovr
Spoiler

SG Drazen Petrovic - 71 ovr
Spoiler

Rookie Summit - Game 3

In the final game of rookie hoop summit saw team USA (me) have a pretty comfortable lead in the 4th quarter. Then they quit paying attention and all of a sudden the game was tied. Chuck Person hit what looked to be the game winning 3 with just 4 seconds to go. Then Mark Price who for some unknown reason was playing for team world tied the game at the buzzer. Team world went on to dominate overtime 17-2.

This world team wasn't nearly as deep Mark Price went off probably the best stat line we saw in 3 games. The big man Sabonis with 12 assist showing off his passing skills. It was a pretty balanced game for team USA with no standout games. Danny Dunn who we had going 6th in the mock draft put up 8 and 5 in just 8 minutes. Carson Dean cemented his spot in the teens as a length F. Person got rebounds at the 4 spot and Gus Watts was solid agian. Cody Pierce the projected 1st overall pick only saw 20 minutes as a lot of bodies at the 5 spot needed minutes.

Looking forward to seeing Bias in the NBA. One of the biggest what ifs, be interesting to see how it plays out

That was one of the main thing that attracted me to this class was the what if stories. Bias is the big name then you also have a young Sabonis and Petrovich. I've used Bias several times in the rookie games he is good and should be able to play the 3 or 4.

Re: NBA 2K - Georgiafan's 3 year realistic rebuilds / remasters

Pacers Wish Granted

The NBA draft is still going on so we will save that talk for another day. For now we will just focus on the Pacers #7 pick. Usually there is a lot of secrets over who the pick will be this time that wasn't the case.

It was widely known Chuck Person was the target for many months. The only real issue was if the Kings would take him at #6 , but they ended up going with more of a PF/C big. When asked GM Bubba said we view Chuck as a PF and that's where he will immediately move to. Its no secret Indiana has longed for a legit shooter from the PF / C spot and that is Chucks best skill. As a team they were 2nd to last in 3 point % so this fills a big need.

We also are told Indiana explored trading down as they value the mid to late part of this draft. However didn't want to go all the way back to 16 with Memphis or 17 with OKC. So in the end finally getting a stretch 4 was to much to pass up

Chuck does have the size and strength to play the 4. His defense and rebounding aren't anything to brag about so that will be something to monitor. During his time at Memphis Chris Mullin was a big success and Chuck has a similar type of game on offense. His athleticism is also below average.

This will lead to even more speculation that Turner is traded soon if the rumors are true. No word yet on what will happen with the 23rd pick. A Person / Sabonis starting frontcourt will have some issues on defense, but it would be fun on offense.

Re: NBA 2K - Georgiafan's 3 year realistic rebuilds / remasters

Already Regretting Trading Down?

Indiana made a trade with the #23 pick they moved down 6 spots and also got the 41st pick. The trade has been a talked about a lot and some are saying Indiana will regret the move. Our source says they already thinking they may have botched this trading away the better player.

The Warriors were the team that traded up since they had the 29th pick plus two 2nd rounders. They didn't have playing time for everyone considering they still have the previous 3 lottery picks on the roster. They are in win now mode with Curry and the others in the last years of their prime.

Golden State ended up selecting one the players we have talked about in PG Sebastian Tatum. His name came in both the rookie summit games and the combine. He can shoot the 3 and has B+ athleticism that's a combo you don't see much in the 20's. He is also 6'4 so he can play the 2. Its easy to see why Golden State traded up for him he plays a different position then any of the rookies of the previous years and should be able to help the 2nd unit right away getting minutes behind Curry. The downside with Tatum is he has limited upside

From Indiana's side we are told they Pacers scouts just got wrong his defense ability. Despite they having him 100% scouted they had his perimeter defense being in the D's when in reality its in the C's. For a guy projected to be a microwave scoring off the bench that's a big gap and being in the C's should be good enough when you factor in improvement.

We will have a article up soon on the players they took with the 29th and 41st pick.
