Re: Time to Finish the Job - Miami Heat Franchise (Next-Gen Rebbot)

Matchup Preview vs. Houston Rockets

Miami - The Miami Heat return home after an impressive win on the road in Atlanta to take on the struggling Houston Rockets. After years of competing at a high level in the Daryl Morey era it's officially rebuild time in Houston. Gone are James Harden and Russell Westbrook, but a serviceable backcourt has taken it's place in John Wall, and Victor Oladipo. However it hasn't led to much success yet for the Rockets as Wall has missed some games with injury and the team has yet to be able to gel together early in the season. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM from AmericanAirlines Arena.

Re: Time to Finish the Job - Miami Heat Franchise (Next-Gen Rebbot)

Heat Fall to Rockets 116-109

John Wall led the Rockets to their second win of the season.

Miami - Victor Oladipo had 26 points, and John Wall had a near double-double with 24 points as the Houston Rockets took control in the second half, and defeated the Miami Heat. Miami was clearly missing the spacing, and scoring provided by Duncan Robinson, as they struggled shooting all night from the field. The second unit also took a hit as Tyler Herro is now thrust into the starting lineup in place of the injured Robinson. He and Dragic each led the heat with 19 points, but the lack of defense in the backcourt proved to be costly against Wall and Oladipo. Miami falls to 2-5 on the season, and now with a daunting three-game west coast road trip. Miami needs to get it together fast before this season spirals out of control. The first of those games will be Saturday in Denver.

Re: Time to Finish the Job - Miami Heat Franchise (Next-Gen Rebbot)

Matchup Preview at Denver Nuggets

Denver - Two teams who have struggled to get out of the blocks this season will meet up in Denver on Saturday when the Miami Heat, and Denver Nuggets square off. Both teams were in the final four of the bubble last year, with the Heat making the finals series against the team that knocked off Denver in the conference finals, but both teams are off to slow 2-5 starts this season that may be attributed to their lengthy time spent at Disney World. Nikola Jokic has been the do it all man for the Nuggets once again leading the team in points, rebounds, assists, and steals. It will need to be Miami's main focus to at least slow him down if they want to come out of the Mile High City with a win. Tip-Off time is 7:30 PM from the Ball Arena.

Game of the Night

Brooklyn - James Harden scored 49 points, and Kevin Durant chipped in with a triple-double as the Brooklyn Nets handed the New Orleans Pelicans their first loss of the season 142-127. These two teams had the best records in the league coming into the game, and the Pels were the last team without a loss in the league at 7-0, but the Nets were able to keep Zion Williamson, and Brandon Ingram in check for the most part while letting their big three go off in the win.

Re: Time to Finish the Job - Miami Heat Franchise (Next-Gen Rebbot)

Heat Slide Continues with Loss to Nuggets

Nikola Jokic posted a triple-double in the Denver win

Denver - Nikola Jokic led the way with a big time triple double, and Jamal Murray had 29 as the Denver Nuggets kept Miami's woes coming holding on for a 106-105 win. Miami entered the final frame trailing by ten points, but went on a run to start the fourth eventually even jumping into the lead for a brief moment, but Jokic wasn't going to let his Nuggets fall in this one. He finished the night with 36 points, 18 rebounds, and 10 assists to secure the triple-double. Goran Dragic led a balanced Heat scoring attack with 19 points, but in the end it wasn't enought to overcome the dominance on display from Denver's two stars. Miami will get the day off tomorrow before a back-to-back in the southwest corner of the country starting Monday in Phoenix.

NBA.Com Power Rankings
RK (LW)TeamRecordNext Game
1 (1) New Orleans Pelicans7-1The Pelicans finally suffered a loss this week, but they still look like the real deal.
2 (2) Washington Wizards6-2The Beal/Westbrook combo continues to thrive in the nations capitol.
3 (4) Boston Celtics5-1The Celtics look like a big time threat out East with a healthy Kemba Walker.
4 (7) Brooklyn Nets7-1The trio of Durant/Harden/Kyrie looks like the team to beat in the eastern conference.
5 (8) Dallas Mavericks6-2Luka has the Mavericks balling, and is looking every bit the MVP favorite so far.
6 (13) Golden State Warriors6-2No Klay, no problem so far for the Warriors. Steph will be at the front of the MVP race if this keeps up.
7 (3) Atlanta Hawks7-1What a start for Trae Young and the Hawks. Can they keep it up?
8 (10) Philadelphia 76ers6-2Doc Rivers had the Embiid/Simmons duo looking as good as they ever have.
9 (19) Sacramento Kings6-3Probably the biggest positive surprise so far this season. The Kings look legit.
10 (5) Utah Jazz5-4Injuries are starting to pile up for the Jazz, and it showed with a couple losses this week
11 (16) Los Angeles Lakers4-4LeBron and co are starting to turn it around after the slow start.
12 (26) Minnesota Timberwolves5-3Another pleasant surprise out west is the T-Wolves who are getting next level play from Karl-Anthony Towns
13 (6) Indiana Pacers5-4The Pacers are just hanging around .500 as they try to get healthy.
14 (15) Phoenix Suns4-4CP3's load management is raising eyebrows in the desert, as they suns are looking to compete.
15 (9) San Antonio Spurs3-5Pop and company do not look sharp to start the season. How much longer does he stay coaching?
16 (17) Los Angeles Clippers4-5The Clippers come out of the bubble looking just as shaky as how they were last seen in there.
17 (20) Orlando Magic3-5Tough to see the Magic really competing with the injuries piling up.
18 (14) Cleveland Cavaliers3-5Andre Drummond has been a beast so far this season, will he be doing it in another uniform soon though?
19 (11) New York Knicks4-4A pleasant surprise out east. The Knicks are holding down a playoff seed as of now.
20 (22) Chicago Bulls4-6Zach LaVine needs to take that next step for the Bulls to compete.
21 (21) Miami Heat2-6Disaster of a start for the Heat who have now lost 6 of 7.
22 (12) Portland Trailblazers3-5Portland has lost three straight after a decent start. Time to turn it around.
23 (18) Milwaukee Bucks3-6Slow out of the blocks who now have a Giannis injury to deal with. Not good.
24 (23) Charlotte Hornets4-4Holding it down so far despite the LaMelo injury.
25 (23) Denver Nuggets3-5Really needed that win over the Heat to get back on track.
26 (24) Houston Rockets3-6The Rockets really need to get DeMarcus back before it's time to blow this up.
27 (28) Oklahoma City Thunder3-5SGA has been lights out to start the season, but he has absolutely no help.
28 (29) Toronto Raptors2-6Champions two years ago to this. It's a disaster in Toronto

Matchup Preview at Phoenix Suns

Phoenix - The Miami Heat look to end their recent run of struggles when they take on the Phoenix Suns Monday night. The Heat may get a little bit of a break as Chris Paul will be sitting this one out with a toe injury, but the Heat have injury issues of their own with Duncan Robinson not making the road trip, and Precious Achiuwa hurt as well. The game tips off at 7:00 PM from Talking Stick Resort Arena.

Re: Time to Finish the Job - Miami Heat Franchise (Next-Gen Rebbot)

What skill level are you playing on? Are you struggling to adjust to the team? I find it hard to maximise anyone but Butler!

Hope to see you pick it up again with the Heat. Tough start as others have mentioned but it mirrors the way they started out IRL.
