How in the world are the Spurs 3rd in the power rankings and Phoenix is 22nd?

No clue lol. These rankings are pretty wild. These are the 2K rankings and I know there are two other rankings - NBA.com and some “expert” - and a quick look showed some definite differences.

This will be a great challenge for me because I like to build organically through the draft and stick with the status quo but that’s just not possible. We must consolidate these draft picks which will force me to make trades. That’s not my comfort zone so I’ll have to get prepared for some major changes.

So many decisions to be made with this team for sure.

I know it’s only one game but I really enjoy playing with SGA due to his handling and size. I don’t even know how to do any dribble moves or know his jumper yet but I was able to score with him. That alone makes him a keeper haha!

Josh Giddey could end up being a classic good basketball player who’s skills don’t really translate into video game success. The AI had Kenrich Williams playing backup PG, so either I need to start manually subbing or move Giddey to the bench and have him bring the primary ball handler for the second unit.

We are a long ways away from the draft but if my stick skills in this first game showed anything, we will definitely have the worst record in the league. That’s no guarantee we land in the top-3 but we need all the hall we can get. I would be very intrigued with a Chet Holmgren/Victor Wembanyama front court, but even I would ruin their careers.

With the first game write up this morning, I couldn’t help but think to myself “why the hell did I choose a screenshot of a random dunk by OG instead of one of the many triples from FVV or Trent?”
