Push out of a clinch on Fight Night???

How do you push your opponent out of a clinch or while your opponent attempts to clinch? The CPU always pushes me out of a clinch, even when he grabs me. He also pushes me when I'm attempting to clinch.

The cpu pushes you away because you need to clinch after he missed a punch, so the trick to not being clinched is to now miss when he is nearing a KD
