Re: Punch Out (Wii) Impressions

I want a good boxing game for the Wii. I don't really care about career modes, just the controls. For anyone who has played this game and the Don King game - which one of the two has the better true to boxing control scheme?

LOL, are you serious? Dude...Punchout is an arcade game. Nothing about this game replicates true to life boxing. That is unless, of course, if they've decided to implement "Star Punches" in real life boxing.

If you are asking this question, then you most likely haven't played the PO series. If you are really curious, start with the $5 PO purchase or check out youtube videos for PO Wii. You either love PO or you don't...and strangely enough, I have never known anyone who didn't like it.

Cool.

The game is borderline flawless. I am still surprised they didn't drop the ball on this title.

My original complaints are still the only ones I have after putting a ton of time in it.

Some sort of online has to be implemented and no excuse for all PO series' fighters to be in this.

Two player local fights? Anyone try the gloves?

Re: Punch Out (Wii) Impressions

even though it was two-day shipping and I wasn't supposed to get the game until tomorrow, just got back from work and it was in my mailbox. Played through the minor circuit and the major circuit but wasn't able to get past Don Flamenco. Gotta go do some more work now but so far I'm liking the game.

I understand that Punchout is an arcade game. I'm 25. I'm old enough to remember Mike Tyson Punch Out on the NES. My question was related to which of the two games controls better? Since it's the Wii, I care about controls. I'm not trying to play a boxing game where my movements aren't represented accurately on screen. That was what I hated most about the Wii Sports boxing demo. I'm just trying to see if any of these games actually deliver on having good control.

Arcade or not, it's still boxing. Punch, uppercut, bob and weave.
