Kelly Pavlik defeats aaron Jaco

Yeah, Jaco was hopelessly outclassed, but Kelley's left hook looked downright destructive.

Jaco's comments after the fight:

"Game plans are great until you are punched, . I never felt power like that. He is a great fighter and a great man.
I don't hate him and he doesn't hate me. It was too much power for me to handle."

At the end there, where the ref is walking him to his corner, I got a laugh where he says, "Yeah, that was a good shot. Where you from...California?!?"

That wasn't even a challenge.

Not much of one. The ref asked Jaco how he was doing and he said, "I'm done".

Yet another Kelly Pavlik "comeback." I'll believe it when he faces an opponent with a pulse.

Yet another comeback?? When has a fight after Hopkins or Martinez been heralded as a big comeback? When he beat up Rubio (who Chavez Jr had trouble with) following the Hopkins fight everybody yawned.

This was nothing more than a glorified exhibition, and everybody knows that. But his left hook looked good, even against a punching bag (Aaron Everlast Jaco).

Re: Kelly Pavlik Fights Scott Sigmon

This fight merits no new thread so I'm using the old Jaco thread.

Kelly fights Sigmon tonight on ESPN 2.

well it's free

kelly was very precise with his combos. he looked great, even though sigmon was a human punching bag. i liked what kelly had to say post-fight. time to step up the competition next fight. seems like his career is back on track....it's good to see!

Re: Kelly Pavlik defeats aaron Jaco

Yeah, Sigmon had a little bit of heart though. Kelly just brutalized him throughout the fight.

Funny post fight remarks from Pavlik.

“That kid is messed up in the head. He kept going and going and every time I hit him, he’d tell me how good I was doing. Weird. The kid was a head case.”

Judge Herb Santos gave Kelly the 6th and 7th rounds by 10-8 margins.
