Let's also be honest about Bud Crawford's name recognition: Nobody outside of the boxing hardcores has a clue who he is. Top Rank has done a very lousy job with his PR, and Bud doesn't help because he is quiet and would prefer to let his fighting do the talking.

Bud is No. 1 or 2 on every pound-for-pound list. But if a list of boxing name recognition was made, Bud wouldn't even crack the top 10. Meanwhile, complete azzclowns like Broner and Tank Davis would be on that list.

Why? They're very similar. Both protected and coddled by the sanctioning bodies and their promoters. Both sh*theels as people. Both overrated as fighters.

A buddy of mine was in Omaha, Nebraska for a work meeting, and he told me he was chilling out at the pool of his hotel when a small camera crew and "some boxer" started working out right next to him, which he was mildly annoyed by. So he moved to another area and was telling me the guy looked like he was some kind of big deal but couldn't remember his name, until I guessed the obvious and he confirmed that it was Crawford. I should mention my buddy is a pretty average sports fan and follows a few teams relatively closely.

That's the kind of name/face recognition Terence Crawford has.

You make some points although I'm still not there on Tank's talent but is anyone at Broner's sh*theels level?

No. Broner is in a class by himself right now in boxing.

Edwin Valero was worse in the last 15 years -- hell, he murdered his WIFE. But he's dead, so Broner is the king of the sh*theel hill now.

I have no sympathy for Valero. But Pacquiao-Valero at 135 or 140 is one of the greatest matchups of the last 20 years that sadly never took place in boxing. That fight would have looked like a joust between dueling eggbeaters -- punches in bunches flying from every possible angle from both men.

I am just sitting back and enjoying reading about trashing Broner. I am always for it. Complete waste.
