Here's the truth. Ea only wanted to produce one "combat" sport game. Sometime around 2013-2014 they had their eye on ufc. They let go of boxing, and a few years later got the ufc license. There won't be another ea sports boxing game until ea no longer has the ufc license. They won't make a MMA and boxing game. I'm not saying I agree with the stance.

I don't have anything to add to the debate about whether a new game would be popular. I'm just disappointed because for me, there was always a boxing game. I go back to ...Atari so I realize those were different times. I remember boxing games without any actual boxers. Audiences are much more sophisticated now & the demands are greater. Games weren't as expensive to make then either.

Boxing has had a decent year but it's not mainstream here in the US anymore. Combat sports in general are more frowned upon I think with all the discussion about brain injuries in other sports. I hope it does make some sort of comeback. There was a time when I actually turned over during the Super Bowl to watch an ESPN fight. I remember going to school & everyone talking about the upcoming Leonard / Hagler fight or about Tyson. I had a boxing game on every console I played. It's a downer that there aren't any on the horizon.

If boxing wasn't doing so great why does Dana White want a piece of the action?!? There are a few articles that say next year he's promoting boxing events. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.blo...regor-mma-news

Boxing is having a solid year. Fact.

Boxing also is nowhere near a part of the American consciousness that it was 30 and 40 years ago. Fact.
