Thoughts
Happy that we played so well. I saw that #2 Texas lost, so I assume we are going to move up and end up being in the National Championship Game. If so, we will do everything we can to be prepared, get pumped up, and do what we've been doing all year long...win.

Yep...#2 Bowling Green v.s. #1 Boise State - National Championship...

We'll see what happens. It's going to be tough. I can't believe we went undefeated...Didn't plan on doing that at all.

This is such a fluke National Championship Game. I don't think either team deserves to be in it. Their ratings are terrible compared to top teams!

Coach Lytle's Thoughts
I can't believe it. Right now I feel like I'm dreaming. This team was ranked below 100 at the beginning of the season, and the main thing we wanted to do, was go out there, play our best, and have fun playing the sport that we all love. We've had bad games, we've had good games, but nothing, nothing beats the feeling of winning the National Championship! I am so proud of each and every one of these players. I can't explain how proud I am of all of them. This is awesome.

Now it's recruiting time!

I'm looking for a lot. A scrambling QB, offensive line players, and a bunch on defense!

Re: Coaching Career of Matt Lytle (NCAA Football '09)

We are ranked preseason #24...

It's weird to see the National Champions ranked that low, but I can't say Bowling Green doesn't deserve it.

I'm going to make our schedule a lot harder this year. It'll be a true test.

Also, I lost a lot of my good players. Actually, I pretty much lost ALL of my good players. They were all seniors.

Sports World Thoughts
Bowling Green didn't look to come out too strong from being crowned the National Champions just seven months ago. They were favored to win their opening game against Virginia Tech, but only by seven points. They must have heard everyone talking about them, because they came out with fire in their eyes, looking to prove everyone and their brother wrong! The game started out close, 7-7. But Bowling Green quickly opened their game up, with their new starting quarterback Claude Mueller, hitting pass after pass. Soon it was 21-14. That's how things ended at half. And after halftime, Virginia Tech looked to make it a game, making the score 21-17...that is until Bowling Green scored 14 unanswered points in the 4th quarter to secure the victory for them.

Bowling Green may not have the best players, the best coach, or the best set of plays, but I tell you, after this game, they looked more for real than they ever have! A bigger test may be waiting for them in two weeks, when they travel to Tennessee to take on the Volunteers. It should be an explosive game!
