Holmgren Retires: Seahawks Begin Coaching Search


There were rumors that the Seattle Seahawks Head Coach, Mike Holmgren, was considering retirement. Holmgren announced this morning at his end-of-year press conference that he will be stepping down as the Seahawks Head Coach. Holmgren, who coached the team from 1999-2007, is one of the greatest coaches in NFL history, and he will be hard to replace. The Seahawks have begin their search, and the reported leading candidates are Defensive Backs coach Jim Mora Jr., Jaguars TE Coach Mike Tice, and QB Coach Jim Zorn. We will post the news of the new coach as soon as possible.

General Manager has stated that whoever the coach is, he will have to keep the entire coaching staff for at least 1 year, unless he is already on staff, then he can replace the position coach or coordinator position.

Breaking News: Seahawks announce little-known Marra as new Head Coach


In a very surprising move, the Seattle Seahawks have named little-known Nathan Marra as their new Head Coach.

Marra, 38, was most recently the RB Coach for the Nebraska Cornhuskers Football Team. The move comes as a huge surprise after Jim Mora Jr. was expected to be named the new coach.

Marra says that everybody will stay on staff, save for QB Coach Jim Zorn, who was named the Redskins Head Coach. He will be replaced by Bill Lazor, the Redskins QB Coach.

Marra gave this statement in his introductory press conference:

"I am verry happy to be able to coach the Seahawks, I grew up watching them, they were my favorite team, and now, I have this wonderful opportunity to be able to coach this team, and I am very humbled, and will do my job as best I can.

OC: Gil Haskell: ok OC, probably keep, 60 Ovr.

DC: John Marshall: really no other options, probably keep, 51 Ovr.

ST: Bruce DeHaven: one of the best ST Coaches out there, definitely keeping, 99 Ovr.

QB: Bill Lazor: Better options, probably fire, 37 Ovr.

RB: Kasey Dunn: terrible coach, he's definitely gone, 1 Ovr.

WR: Keith Gilbertson: ok, but not great, probably fire, 28 Ovr.

OL: Mike Solari: pretty good OL Coach, will keep, 76 Ovr.

DL: Derek Brock: real name Dwaine Board, just a screw-up on EA's part. Probably fire, 30 Ovr.

LB: Zerick Rollins: undecided, he's not that great of a coach, but can improve. I will probably fire, but not sure yet, 14 Ovr.

DB: Jim Mora Jr: Great coach, will definitely keep, 85 Ovr.

TRN: Shane Butler: Not a very good Trainer, better options, 14 Ovr.

GM: Tom Russell: Real Name: Tim Ruskell, good GM, Keep, 76 Ovr.

As for guys I will target for next year's coaching staff, Mike Tice, Jags Receivers Coach is available all the time, so I'll get him to replace Gilbertson, 66 Ovr., though he's always lower when I get him. Stump Mitchell, the Redskins RB Coach, is an 85 overall and is sometimes available, I'll try and get him. Jim Caldwell, Colts QB Coach, always seems to be available for no reason, I'll definitely target him unless I have to break the bank, 99 Ovr. I'm definitely getting a new trainer, don't know who yet.
