Re: The Career of S Kampfer
Bank of America Field (Charlotte NC) The visiting Chicago Bears found out the Panthers have gotten a little more swagger to their step than they had last year. The Panthers defeated the Bears 21-7 behind a very stingy defense that only gave up 44 yards rushing yards and saw back-up Bears QB Orton come into the game after starting QB Grossman was injured on a OLB Davis sack.
The Panthers and Bears were scoreless at the end of the 1st Quarter, but the Panthers had a comfortable half-time lead of 14-0 on a WR Smith 9 yard reception and another 7 yard TD reception by WR Hackett.
The Bears and Panthers traded punts, and turn-overs, during the 3rd Quarter, but no points were put on the board. However, the Bears drew within 7 on a Bradley 9 yard TD reception early in the 4th. The teams once again traded punts until the Panthers put together a nice drive that sealed the game after a RB Williams burst up the middle for a 17 yard score.
Coach Kampfer said he was pleased with the game, but is concerned because the defense is allowing big plays. "We are putting alot of pressure on the QBs but that is not resulting in turnovers...that is something we will be working on."
The Panthers travel to Minnesota to take on the Vikings next week.
