Redskins News:
QB Controversy in DC?
With the Redskins 1st pick (23rd) in the 2009 NFL Draft, they selected Dane Morrow (QB) what does this mean for Jason Campbell?
Campbell who is entering the final year of his contract with the Redskins posted career high numbers in every major passing category, throwing for over 3800 yards and 24 TD's in 2008 also leading the team to 5 4th quarter comebacks. Campbell achieves all of this and it looks like his job as starting QB is in jeopardy.
One aspect where we can see why the Redskins drafted at QB with their first pick is that Jason Campbell is entering in the final year of his contract. (and will probably ask to be payed like a franchise QB) With the Redskins 2nd first round pick the team chose to select the best corner in the draft in Juran Riley, no doubt to help the 32nd ranked pass defence.

Redskins 2010 Preview:
This time last year we didn't have high hopes for the Redskins as they were supposedly in a 'transition year' by the offence put up great numbers, and ranked number 10 in total offence (from 15 last year), but the most exiting thing to watch was the Campbell to Moss connection, which was especially deadly in the redzone. 6th round pick Jermarion Bellows looks quite promising aswell.
We also saw the rebirth of the running game, the Redskins backfield looks quite crowded at the moment with Rice, Portis, James, and Omon, but with the upgrades at offensive line we should see at least one of these backs rush for over a thousand.
Defensivly, Greg Blache is gone and Pepper Johnson is in. Johnson has experience with the 3-4 scheme (formerly with the patriots) and should bring some new life to the defence which ranked 32nd against the pass (8th against the run). Johnson will have a large cast of rookies in what looks like the starting lineup (Knox, Simms, Riley, McKinnie, Lopez, Forbes, and Price) This group is getting younger and has alot of Depth, look for Peppers to get creative with the defence.

Redskins Fantasy Preview:
The Washington Redskins put up a few fantasy studs last season with Santana Moss (WR), Mario Manningham (WR), Jason Campbell (QB), Ray Rice (HB, TD Machine).
Things may look a little different this season, with Dane Morrow drafted in the first round, and is the odds on favourite to start this year, look for the numbers of Santana Moss, Mario Manningham and Antwaan Randle El (who may not even be starting this year) to go down, if you were to take 1 of these receivers it would have to be Santana Moss, but it would be best if you avoid the Redskins recieving corps completely.
Instead look for Ray Rice to put up huge numbers. If Morrow is going to be the starter, it is likely that Rice will be given more of a workload in the offence. We saw rice put up great numbers when Portis went down last year and was on pace for a thousand yard season, but when Portis became healthy again Rice and Portis were splitting carries, and even Xavier Omon took a few goal line carries away from both of them. This year they Skins have another dynamic back to share the load, in rookie LeRon James. James put up awesome numbers in college. At the moment it seems the Redskins have a loaded backfield, but Ray Rice would still be a top 10 back this year.
