A Falcons Dynasty-Change in Atlanta

Ok, I'm starting my last dynasty in 2010(I hope). I'll be attempting to turn the Falcons around.

Coach Mike Smith

Commander personality

Position philosophies-All Balanced

Skills-Performance 5

Special Skills-none, saving up for Ambition

Offensive Playbook-Spread Plus-a custom playbook which has its base the Michigan Spread but I added Texas Tech plays as well.

Defensive Playbook-FTF-Another custom playbook that uses 4-2-5 as the base, but I also added 3-2-6, 3-3-5, 4-4, and the 46 formations as well.

Need to keep the philosophies balanced with all those different formations.

Definitely following closely. Can't wait to see how well your defense does with all those crazy formations.

Re: A Falcons Dynasty-Change in Atlanta

Coach Smith has had a discussion with the Owner and GM. "You've brought me all the way from Xenia College to turn your team around. I've had success there with my playbooks and I expect to do the same here. You've got a lot of cap space, but there may be more because I expect to make some cuts before FA. I hope both of you will let me make the necessary changes to the roster to make this team a success. Both of them agreed they would give Coach Smith control over personnel decisions, but his approval would be a factor in him keeping his job. "I put a lot of stock in player performance and player development. First comes performance, and then player development. I will follow that strategy in my coaching career".

Re: A Falcons Dynasty-Change in Atlanta

Staff Overview:

OC Mike Mularkey-Overall 27-Performance goes to 3, no special skills-fire

DC-Brian Vangorder-26-Performance goes to 3, no SS-fire

STC Keith Armstrong-Performance goes to 3, but all development skills go to 5. Good STC are hard to find, so I'll keep unless a better STC comes along.

QBC-Bill Musgrave-32-Performance goes to 3, no SS-fire

RBC-Gerald Brown-5-Performance goes to 2, no SS-fire

WRC-Terry Robiskie-56-Performance goes to 2 no SS, fire.

OLC-Paul Boudreau-16-Performance goes to 3, no SS, fire.

LBC Glenn Pires-9-Performance goes to 3, no SS, fire.

DBC Emmitt Thomas-95-Performance goes to 3, has Coverage Analysis. A good DBC, but Performance 3 is a drawback. I'll fire for someone with greater Performance.

DLC-Ray Hamilton-75-Performance goes to 3, no SS. See Emmitt Thomas-fire

GM Don Ross-38-He has room to grow; all his regular skills go to 4 except Trade Negotiation which goes to 3. He has the Accomodation and Mid Major School Insider special skills. I'll fire him if there's a better GM like Gil Darnell available, otherwise he stays.

Trainer Ryan King-1-He's a 1, what else can you say-fire.

Re: A Falcons Dynasty-Change in Atlanta

Roster Overview

QB-No QB, address in the draft.

HB-Jerious Norwood 81/89 the starter.

FB-Ovie Mughelli signed to bad 5 year deal, but I have cap room. May cut him in the future and sign him to a better deal.

WR-Roddy White can stay for now, all the rest are disposable.

TE-No TE, Milner 65/73 the best.

LT-Quinn Ojanka 72/73 is the best. I'll need to address this issue.

LG-Justin Blalock-83/89-He'll keep his job for now.

C-No Center, I may cut McClure.

RG-No RG, Kynan Forney 73/73 likely cut.

RT-RT Todd Weiner 82/82 the starter, but I may cut him and sign him to a 1 year deal later.

LE-Jamaal Anderson 77/83 not worth 4.7 million-but I may not take the 10 million cap hit this year.

RE-John Abraham 84/84 not worth 6.2 million, but I may not take the 4 million cap hit this year.

DT-All disposable-all backup DTs

LOLB-Michael Boley 86/88-May try and franchise him.

MLB-Keith Brookings-88/89-Not worth 6.5 million, but may not cut him this year.

ROLB-no ROLB

CB-Chris Houston 81/86 a starter for now, but you need 2 corners.

FS-Jimmy Williams 73/79 not worth 2 million, but may or may not be cut this year.

SS-Lawyer Milloy 79/79 not worth 2 million, but may or may not cut this year. I'll need 2 SS, so this will be a need.

K-no K

P-no P

All in all, I've got a lot of work to do.

It's a possibility, but I have multiple holes to fill on my roster. I'll look to trade down at 3, and see who's left at the spot I trade down to.

Re: A Falcons Dynasty-Change in Atlanta

18 Day Period

Franchise Tags:

Bears-Lance Briggs, Cowboys- LT Flozell Adams, Saints- C Jeff Faine, Ravens-ROLB Terrell Suggs, Patriots- Randy Moss, Seahawks-CB Marcus Trufant, Panthers-Jordan Gross, Giants-K Lawrence Tynes, Bengals-RE Justin Smith.

Season Goals-Acquire 85+ROLB, Acquire 85 + TE, Acquire 85 + QB. Incidentally, I hate offseason goals. I'm always unwilling to pay the price in draft picks or FA to get the player, so I usually end up failing the goal and taking a huge approval hit with my owner.

RFAs:

LOLB Michael Boley-Level 3 tender, 1st round pick if not matched.

RE Chauncey Davis-Level 2 tender, 2nd round pick if not matched.

FA Period:

I traded SS Lawyer Milloy, DT Trey Lewis and my 6 (166) pick to the 49ers for LT Joe Staley- 85 overall /93 potential.

Signed K Rob Bironas to 2 year, 4.8 million deal with a 500K bonus.

Signed P Mitch Berger 86 overall to a 1 year, 1.1 million deal, no signing bonus.

I traded FS Jimmy Williams for the Cardinals 4 (113) pick and their 6 (179) pick.
