Re: Rams Dynasty

3 Straight Super Bowl wins. Are you staying with the Rams, or going to a new team for a new challenge.

*EDIT*-I see you're staying with the Rams for a 4th straight year. How long will you stay with the Rams?

I haven't decided, didn't even really think about making a change until you mentioned it. Now you've planted the seed and I'll have to think on it as I sim through Season 4.

Re: Rams Dynasty

The St. Louis Rams Head Coach and the Coaching Staff

HC Ken Joslin- OVR 40, Playcalling 4, Strategy 4, Performance 5; Special Skills- Ambition, Rec Discipline, Speed, Strength, Game Film, Block Shedding, Press, Coverage, Interception, Tackling, Hard Hit, Forced Fumble, Blitz, off season seminar

OC Al Saunders OVR 99- has 14/28 specials- the Owner always wants me to bring him back and he always comes back...when he does leave and get a HC job he's going to be a force.

DC Rod Marinelli OVR 63

STC Al Roberts OVR 53

QBC Jim Caldwell OVR 99-almost have him maxed out. Another guy that has to be thinking HC job

RBC Art Valero OVR 85

WRC Henry Ellard OVR 99-almost have him maxed out.- Could be the Rams next OC

OLC Mike Barry OVR 47

LBC Rick Venturi OVR 83

DBC Glenn Pires OVR 41

DLC Brian Baker OVR 72

GM Gary Meese OVR 74- he has all the school insiders and draft and potential intuition...should make drafting much simpler.

Trainer Robert Wyman OVR 99-super stud, but he usually doesn't stay around long.

I'd make Caldwell the next OC. Tony Dungy has the Mentor skill, and it adds 1 level in potential to all his coaches. It's why you should always look to raid coaching talent from the Colts.

Re: Rams Dynasty

Caldwell would make a good OC, but I have a feeling he'll leave before Saunders or Ellard. If I leave at the end of the season it won't matter.

Re: Rams Dynasty

Rams 2011 Draft Recap

Before the Draft the Rams send WR Dorien Bryant to the Bills for a 2nd and 6th round pick this year.

St. Louis sens WR Donnie Avery and QB Rodney Anthony to Carolina for DT Ma'ake Kemoeatu. Both Avery and Anthony were in the last year of their contracts and were expected to demand considerably more money than the Rams have to spend.

Rams send HB Ray Rice and a 3rd round pick to the Buccaneers for C Jeff Faine. Rice had noticeably lost a step and was due for a new contract, whereas Faine is signed to a long tern deal quite cheaply.

Patriots send FS Cedric Griffin to Rams for C Jeremy Dahl and a 3rd round pick. Dahl was looking for a new deal, while Griffin is signed for several more years.

St. Louis trades another two lame ducks. This time it is CB Patrick Lee and DE Calais Campbell. They are sent to Arizona in exchange for DE Vernon Caldwell.

The Rams send HB3 Kevin McAllister to the Titans for a 2nd and 7th round pick in this years draft.

1st/12 sent to Colts for 30th overall pick and 2012 2nd and 3rd round picks.

1st/16 sent to Seahawks for 20th overall and 2012 4th rounder

1st/20 sent to Broncos for 25th overall pick and 4th and 7th round picks in 2012

1st/21 QB Jeff Meadows...HC Joslin looks for QB Marc Bulger's eventual replacement.

1st/25 HB Marcus Mercer...HB Steven Jackson isn't getting any younger and Mercer could be his replacement in the coming years.

1st/28 CB Kedrick Judge...you can never have too many good corners

1st/30 LG Dan Lilly...best player on the board.

1st/32 ROLB Mychal Greenlaw...need an OLB with Lamarr Woodley in the last year of his deal.

2nd/6 sent to Bills for 2012 2nd and 3rd round picks.

2nd/16 RG Trace Potter...not a neeed, but too good to pass up

2nd/19 sent to Chargers for 2nd, 4th, and 5th in 2012

2nd/21 sent to Broncos for 3rd this year and a 3rd and 6th in 2012

2nd/24 sent to 49ers for 3rd and 4th in 2012

2nd/27 WR Donta Bowman...not a great pick, but we need some insurance at WR

2nd/32 sent to Raidrs for 2012 3rd and 4th.

3rd/2 C Brian Spitz...the Rams don't need OL, but these guys are too good to pass on.

3rd/21 sent to Packers for 2012 3rd and 7th

3rd/25 RE Tom Barnett...need some depth with Bake and Baker being taken in RFA

3rd/23 sent to Saints for 4th rounder this year and a 5th and 7th in 2012

3rd/24 sent to Chiefs for 4th, 5th and 7th round picks in 2012

3rd/28 LG Zachary Caldwell...can't believe the depth of 90 pot OL

3rd/32 sent to Texands for a 4th and 6th in 2012

4th/5 sent to Redskins for 2012 4th and 5th

4th/11 sent to Cardinals for 4th and 7th in 2012

4th/16 WR Donta Brookes...the talent is pretty much gone now, so St. Louis is trying to trade out of all their picks and if they get stuck with one, they are rolling the dice.

4th/23 sent to Chiefs for 5th and 6th in 2012

4th/32 LE BB Yanda...never hurts to have an extra DE

5th/5 sent to Steelers for 5th and 7th in 2012

5th/7 sent to Packes for 2 7ths this year and a 6th next year.

5th/16 aquired from Titans for the Rams 5th, 6th and 7th rounders. The Rams then send the pick to the Bills for a 6th and 7th in 2012...not exactly a stellar deal, but I'm just trying to dump picks.

5th/32 MLB Jay Erickson...gotta love guys that have no comparables.

6th/14 HB Armond Green...need a HB3

6th/21 QB Mario Davis...compares to Drew Brees and he'll compete for QB3 spot

6th/24 CB Corey Dawson...longshot to make the team

6th/25 WR Mookie Sanders...yes we need WRs but even so he's a longshot to make the team.

6th/27 HB Darrell Lott...St. Louis is taking any offers to dump these picks, but no one is giving us anything.

7th/2 HB Ricardo Hopkins...thought we'd bring him out as a tackling dummy

7th/5 RT TJ Boyd...he has an 87 potential and has just about no chance of making the team.

7th/6 RG Chuck Jones...camp body if he lasts that long

7th/7 WR Alex Williams...longshot

7th/10th MLB Derrick McFarland...longshot

7th/15 CB William Wells...sometimes the guys that compare to Peanut Tillman turn out okay

7th/24 LOLB Austin O'Neill...camp fodder at best.

7th/31st FB Patrick Wade...doubtful he could take a job from Mauia or Krieder

7th/32 LG Jarred Abraham...I had to take someone, so I took him.

After the draft, LT Paul Abbamonte gets injured on the first day of training camp and looks to be out for 2 months...well he can spend those 2 months with someone else as far as HC Joslin is concerned. The Rams send Abbamonte to the Buccaneers for a 2nd and 5th in 2012. It isn't a good deal, but we have a surplus of 90 potential OL, so we don't need a guy who can't stay healthy costing us money and a roster spot.

Rams send OLB Lamar Woodley to the Redskins for a 2013 1st round pick. Woodley was in the last year of his contract and was already making noise about how much money he was going to demand. Now he can make those demands of the Redskins.

RE Justin Fawcett is dealt to the Texans for a 2012 2nd round pick.

DT Adam Carriker won't be getting a new deal from the Rams. The standout DT was sent to the Titans for their 2013 1st round pick.

Backup QB Colby Sparts was sent to the 49ers for 2012 4th and 2013 7th.

S Sanrick Raines sen to Browns for 2013 2nd and 7th.

OLB Tavares Gooden won't be resigned by St. Louis. Gooden is sent to the Panthers for a 2013 2nd rounder.

Re: Rams Dynasty

St. Louis Goes Undefeated in the Preseason

Rams 45
Dolpins 10
QB Bulger pulls a hamstring and will miss 4 weeks.

Eagles 26
Rams 40
HB Steven Jackson pulls an ACL and will miss 5 months, he is put on IR

Bengals 20
Rams 63

Rams 38
Cowboys 3

The Rams grabbed WR Steve Smith who was cut by the Panthers due to Salary Cap reasons. Smith is unlikely to be resigned but he provides some valuable insurance as WR Andre Johnson appears to be severely hampered by his season ending injury from last year...his potential has dropped from 94 to 76! Only time will tell if he can recover.

With the injuries to QB Bulger and HB Jackson it looks like HC Joslin was prescient in his selections of QB Meadows and HB Mercer. Now can the rookies fill the starters shoes?
