Re: Passing Attack Extraordinaire - A Chiefs dynasty

Gametime:
Weather: Raining with a 2 MPH wind.

Lost a tough one 38-31. Morrow did alright, but threw 2 picks, and that's what killed us. If I can get Improved Reads, it will help. Surtain and Mayo both had 10+ tackles, Mayo with 11, Surtain with 12. Only 2 sacks and no INTs. That needs to change if we want to win. MVP honors have to go to Schaub, who threw for 5 TDs. Ugh. Welker also took one to the house.

Coach improvements:

Level 3 performance (STC)

Next week: @ Denver. Hopefully I can pull it out.

Re: Passing Attack Extraordinaire - A Chiefs dynasty

Week 2 @ Denver:
Shanahan (83) still the HC.
They don't have an amazing roster, but a few key players, especially Bailey and Marshall should help them.

Injuries:
Denver - Bailey
KC - Mayo, Waters, Smith, Dorsey, Jackson

Weather: Sunny/Clear, 2 MPH wind

This one got off to an ugly start in the first, Morrow was 2 for 9. 'Twas still ugly in the second, they got the first TD of the game. But the 2 minute drill is unstoppable, and we went into half time 13-7 Denver, after a touchdown by us and a Field goal by them.

But in the second half, we start the comeback. Morrow caps off the 3rd by throwing 2 TD passes, and we get a 2 point conversion. 22-16 at the end of the third.

In the 4th, Morrow just takes over, like he will for (hopefully) many years to come, throwing his 2 TD with 5 minutes left. We pretty much wrapped it up when Surtain picked one off and took about 60 yards. However, for good measure, Morrow throws his 6th TD of the game with just under 2 minutes left to go. And as I'm playing bend but don't break, we force a fumble and Emanuel rumbles to the 11. So I decide, why not? And Morrow throws his 7th TD of the game. Running it up feels good. We get a stop, and I say what the hay? So I go for number 8, and Bowe breaks away with no time left for the 8th passing TD by Morrow this week!

Final score: 56-16 KC over Denver

Statistical leaders:
Passing:
KC - Morrow - 44-61, 565 yards (9.2 AVG), 8 TDs, 2 INTs
Denver - Cutler - 21-36, 277 yards (7.6 AVG), 1 TD, 2 INTs

Rushing:
KC - Johnson - 14 yards on 3 carries (4.6), 0 TDs, 0 Fumb, 11 long
Denver - Young - 75 Yards on 22 carries (3.4), 0 TDs, 0 Fumb, 12 Long

Receiving:
KC - Johnson - 12 Rec for 157 yards, 3 TDs
Bowe - 10 Rec for 130 Yards, 2 TDs
Robinson - 8 Rec for 93 Yards, 3 TDs

Denver - Horn - 7 Rec for 121 Yards, 0 TDs
Marshall - 4 Rec for 63 Yards, 1 TD

Defensive Leaders:
Tackles:
INTs: Surtain (KC - 10), Colvin/Miller (Den - 7)
FFMUB: Flowers (KC - 1)
REC: Emanuel (KC - 1)
TFLs: Bake 5 (KC), Crowder (Den - 2)
Sacks: Crowder (Den - 2)

Disappointed by no sacks, but that's about it. Morrow puts up these numbers, and My staff will be maxed out in no time. As well as a Superbowl win, of course.

Weekly Stuff:
Morrow - OPOTW (AFC)

Coaching improvements:
Performance level 3 (WRC, OLC, DBC)

Next week: @ Pittsburgh

Re: Passing Attack Extraordinaire - A Chiefs dynasty

Week 3 @ Pittsburgh:
Tomlin is still their HC. With Reothlisberger (Sp?), we are going to have to shut down their passing game. Hopefully I can exploit their aggressiveness on Defense and put up 40+.

Injuries:
Chiefs - Mayo (Back next week)
Pitt - Foote (83)

Weather:
Sunny/Clear with an 8 MPH crosswind.

1st Quarter
Started off much better this game, as Morrow threw a TD on the second play of the game. 7-0 KC

They also score on their first drive, but a field goal, as we bend but don't break. 7-3 KC

We rebound quickly, and strike for another passing TD. 14-3 Chiefs.

They go 3 and out.

We get another in the first, by passing of course. 21-3 KC at the end of the first quarter.

2nd Quarter:

We move down the field, not missing a beat, and pass for another TD. 28-3 KC

Another bend but don't break strategy holds them to a FG with about a minute to go. 28-6 KC.

We were driving, but Morrow throws a TD to the wrong team. 28-13 KC

We almost end up scoring gain, but we are stopped.

3rd Quarter:

We were driving hard, and about to score again, but Morrow threw another pick.

They end up getting 3 more off the TO. 28-16 KC

4th Quarter:

After about 30 penalties in a row by us, Morrow decides to just give it to them. And they drive and run it it for the score. 28-23 KC

We turn it over on downs, but Edwards picks up the fumble and runs it in for the score!

They drive for about 7 minutes and run another one in for the score. 35-30 KC

We get to the 2 minute warning on our next drive. We go for it on 4th and 5 but miss, and they have it at our 23. They are at the 4, 4th and 3, and we get the stop. We get first and run out the clock. We escape from Pittsburgh, 35-30

Statistical leaders:
Passing:
KC - Morrow - 40-55, 544 Yards, 4 TDs, 3 INTs
Pitt - Ben R. - 14-29, 196 Yards, 0 TDs, 0 INTs

Rushing:
KC - Johnson - 5 Carries for 17 yards
Pitt - Grant - 30 carries for 115 Yards, 1 TD

Receiving:
KC - Welker - 12 Rec for 91 Yards
TDs: Clark (1), James (2), Bowe (1)
Pitt - Jurevicius - 119 Yards on 7 Rec

Defensive Leaders (KC):
Tckl - Simms - 9
TFLs - Dorsey - 2
Sacks - Bake - 1

Weekly Stuff:
Morrow - OPOTW (AFC)

Coaching Upgrades:
Improved QB Reads (HC)

Next week: Vs. San Diego

Re: Passing Attack Extraordinaire - A Chiefs dynasty

Week 4 Vs. San Diego:

Scouting update:
Looking at both Riko Kemp and Devin Gilbert. I'll lok to trade up with 1 or 2 of my 3 first rounders next year if either drop into the 8th spot.

Also: Morrow is on pace to throw 8368 yards this year. Wow.

Injuries:
KC - Morrison, Smith, Waters, McIntosh
San Diego - RG Goff (84)

Weather: Raining with a 20 MPH wind.

1st Quarter:

They burn me on the first offensive play of the game for a 77 yard TD. 7-0 Chargers

They hold me as I turn it over on downs.

But we get it right back with a pick by Mayo.

We convert on 4th down from their 7 and get the TD. Morrow to Bowe. 7-7 Tied

2nd Quarter:

We force a 3 and out after some incompletions.

We move down the field in less than 5 minutes and strike again. 14-7 KC

Force a 3 and out after a sack by Emanuel, who looks super fat as I just noticed.

We fail to get the TD on 4th and goal from the 2. Turnover on downs.

But we force a 3 and out.

We go 3 and out.

We force another 3 and out.

We almost get a field goal to end the half, but the wind catches it and it bangs off the right upright.

3rd Quarter:

We go down the field in less than 5 minutes again and score. 21-7 KC

We force another 3 and out.

We drive down quickly again and score. 28-7 KC

We force a FG try which goes wide right.

4th Quarter:

We fail to convert the 4th in the Red Zone... disappointing.

We force another 3 and out.

After the Return, Morrow throws a pick six. 28-14 KC

On a third down try, Johnson runs in for his first rushing TD of the year. 35-14 KC

We force another 3 and out.

We go 3 and out.

They turn it into TD by Rivers. 35-21 KC

We get another TD, however and put it away. 42-21 KC

We get another pick by Mayo to really put it away.

Morrow decides (along with me) to run it u and throws another TD. 49-21 KC

We force another 3 and out.

We still run it up, and throw another TD pass. 56-21

They end it by bombing 1 incomplete.

KC wins another, 56-21.

A great game by us that was even more of blowout than the score indicates, if possible. Morrow was fantastic and should be in the lead for multiple awards. The D was also fantastic, forcing many 3 and out as well as only giving up 14 (pick 6). We are in the lead for the division right now.

Statistical Leaders:
Passing:
KC - Morrow - 54-77 (70%), 646 yards (8.3 YPA), 7 TDs, 1 INT
San Diego - Rivers - 8-30 (26%), 181 Yards (6.0 YPA), 2 TDs, 2 INTs

Rushing:
KC - Johnson - 5 yards on 2 Attempts, 1 TD, 7 Long
San Diego - LDT - 85 yards on 13 Attempts, 0 TDs, 21 Long

Receiving:
KC - Welker - 120 Yards on 13 Rec, 1 TD
Clark - 12 Rec for 99 yards, 0 TDs
Bowe - 10 Rec for 178 Yards, 4 TDs
Johnson - 8 Rec for 107 Yards, 1 TD
Robinson - 3 Rec for 63 yards, 1 TD

San Diego - Jackson - 3 Rec for 42 Yards, 1 TD
Gates - 3 Rec for 110 Yards, 1 TD, 77 long

Defensive Leaders:
KC:
Tackles: Mayo - 6
TFLs: Emanuel - 2
Sacks: Emanuel - 2
INTs: Mayo - 2
Defl: Mayo/Simms - 3

San Diego:
Tackles: Jammer - 11
TFLs: Phillips - 3
Sacks: Phillips - 2
INTs: Phillips - 1

Weekly Stuff:
SS Morgan out 4 weeks - Cracked Leg Bone
FS Page out 1 week - Sprained Ankle

Morrow - OPOTW (AFC)

Coaching Upgrades:
Performance level 4 (DC, DLC)

Next Week: Vs. Giants - Should be a Tough one.

Re: Passing Attack Extraordinaire - A Chiefs dynasty

Love QB Dan Morrow, great pick and as I recall from when I had him way, way back he's not too hard to resign.

How is DT Glenn Dorsey holding up? Whenever I've had him in the past he couldn't stay healthy for more than a couple of games in a row.

He got hurt in Preseason for 3 or 4 weeks, but that's been his only injury in his career so far,

Week 5 Vs. Giants:

Injuries:
KC - SS Morgan, FS Page, C Smith, LG Waters, RT McIntosh
NY - LE Henderson, WR Burress (89)

With Burress out, we have a good shot at holding them to less than what we score.
