Passing Attack Extraordinaire - A Chiefs dynasty

Update: Gonna try and keep records of lots of stuff. Imma try and run all 15 seasons with the Chiefs, but I know I'll go 7 or 8.

Well, my other dynasty was freezing too much, so we'll go in a different direction this time.

Coach Name: Wally Tufgin
Personality Type: Commander
OPlaybook: Tufgin Spread Attack (As many 5 wide plays as possible, Heavy Pass to run ratio (8:1, 119:15)
DPlaybook: Good ol' Tampa 2
Coach Skills: Performance level 5 (Saving for Ambition)
Start: Pre-Season (Don't want to have a huge advantage)

Philosophies:
Hire: Give up a lot of Control
Trade: Trade Down, Neutral, Light, Aggresive
Draft: Needs
Contract: Cheap/Low
QB: Field General
HB: Receiving
FB: Receiving, Set Min to 0
WR: Balanced
TE: Soft Hands/Routes
OL: Pass
DL: One Gap/Undersized
LB: Coverage/Speed
DB: Cover 2/Centerfielder/Coverage
K/P: Big Foot
Evaluation: Through Draft/Favors Knowledge
Playcall: Blitz Light/Cover 2/DC/4-3
Aggresive
Heavily No Huddle/OC/Spread

Staff and Roster Reviews next.

Re: Passing Attack Extraordinaire - A Chiefs dynasty

Staff Review:

HC: Wally Tufgin - 9 - I'll be sticking around for quite a while.
OC: Chan Gaily - 36 - Playcall maxes at 4, and it gets worse. Performance can only go to 2, and his developmental skills are mediocre at best. No special skills. Firing
DC: Gunther Cunningham - 63 - His Performance is 3/3, and he is very good at Developing. He has two special skills (Block Shedding and Hard Hit Training), but there are better options. Firing
STC: Mike Priefer - 58 - Developmental skills are very, good, but for STCs they don't mean much. Performance is 1/2. Firing
QBC: Dick Curl - 56 - Horrid name. He is maxed out in everthing, and has the Improved QB reads Special Skill. Firing
RBC: Curtis Modkins - 10 - Ummmm.... Yeah. His developing skills max at 3, and the others at 2. Luckily I don't plan on running a lot. No Special Skills. Firing
WRC - Eric Price - 19 - They keep getting worse! Performance is 1/1, and he is bad everywhere else. Goodbye. Firing
OLC - Bob Bicknell - 5 - Hello sacks galore! He has decent potential, but there are better options. Firing
LBC - Don Blackmon - 30 - Performance is 1/1, but at least he can develop solid players. Firing
DLC - Tim Krumie - 80 - Ahhh, the saving grace of the Chiefs staff. Everything maxes out at 4 or 5, sadly Performance maxes at 3/4, but He will be retained, perhaps promoted, but his other developmental skills are lacking. If they have high potential, he might be promoted. Retaining, perhaps Promoting.
DBC - David Gibbs - 23 - Good potential, Performance maxes at 4 and has Ambition. Retaining
GM - Karl Potts - 58 - Not as bad as I thought, and Trade/Contract are 3/3 and 3/4. However, he won't be as good as potential improvements. Firing
Trainer - Harry White - 1 - Horrible. It kills me, or rather my players, because of him. Firing

Roster review after the Preseason.

Re: Passing Attack Extraordinaire - A Chiefs dynasty

The Preseaon:
Traded TE Tony Gonzalez to the Lions for their 2009 1st Rounder. The12 Mil Cap Hit Will hurt, but it was worth it.

Signed K Alexis Serna to a 1 year, 290K Deal.

Traded for RE Elmis Dumervil for a 2009 4th and 5th round pick. (Denver)

Signed DT Glenn Dorsey to a 5 year, 37.02 Million dollar deal with an 8 million signing bonus.

Signed CB Brandon Flowers to a 4 Year, 3.90 Million dollar deal with a 500K signing bonus.

Signed LT Brandon Albert to a 5 Year, 15.50 Million dollar deal with a 2.50 million dollar bonus.

Lost 1st game @ Chicago 17-7. Lol Stat: Thigpen was 7-23.

Won 2nd game versus Cardinals 26-20 in OT. Lol Stat: Thigpen ws 5-14 with a pick. At least he threw a TD last game. There is also a guy playing his heart out, and I'm a guy who like to keep those players around. Unfortunatly, he doesn't have a rating of 80+ potential anywhere. He has 5 sacks though.

Did some more cuts and signings, namely Kick Return extraordinaire Dante Hall.

Signed QB Troy Smith to a 1 Year, 6 million dollar deal with a 1 million dollar bonus. Cut whoever my 3rd string QB was. May be a lot, but if he plays well he could earn a LTC, depending on the draft class.

Won 3rd game at Miami 26-20 in OT. Lol Stat: Bowe (passing) was 1-8 with 2 picks.

Lost 4th game versus St. Louis 17-13. Not much to say.

Did you get the roster update since you started in the preseason. It'll give you the FAs the Chiefs signed and the draft players they selected in the 2008 draft. I think it also updates their ratings.

Yeah. I haven't noticed too much change, however, except for the fact that I have Seau.

Re: Passing Attack Extraordinaire - A Chiefs dynasty

PreSeason Promise: Win at lest 3 games.

Simming the first year:

Running with the English Path.

Halfway through the Season, I am 5-3.
Week 1 @ New England: Won 34-30
Week 2 Vs. Oakland: Won 45-14
Week 3 @ Atlanta: Won 31-19
Week 4 Vs. Denver: Lost 13-10
Week 5 @ Carolina: Won 33-7
Week 6: Bye
Week 7 Vs. Tennessee: Lost 13-10 (OT)
Week 8 @ NYJ: Won 20-13
Week 9 Vs. Tampa Bay: Lost 42-21

I'm pretty happy so far, knowing I'll be able to win consistently in years to come. It's sucks having ma bad trainer, though, because it seems half on my team gets hurt every week. Hopefully I'll be able to get a better staff, as well as English, James or Morrow, preferably James. I do have the Lions pick, so English is a possibility! I am also leading the division, just ahead of the Broncos and the Norv Turners.

Re: Passing Attack Extraordinaire - A Chiefs dynasty

Second half of the Season:

Week 10 @ San Diego: Lost 14-17
Smith was good, but not good enough. We just couldn't get anything else going.

Week 11 Vs. New Orleans: Lost 21-16
Our offense isn't scoring enough to back up our good defensive play. Ah well, it'll be fixed with Bellows, Goldman, James, and James/Morrow. It probably means I can also get Riley if I want.

Week 12 Vs. Buffalo: Won 20-13
The Offense isn't nearly as good as the defense, but it's workable for now. Two more Turnovers on my behalf. Side Note: The Lions are 5-6, good enough for 12th in the NFL. This year is kinda a down year, isn't it? I am in first with a mediocre 6-5 record.

Week 13 @ Oakland: Won 41-13
Couldn't be stopped on the ground. Johnson ran over them, and Smith threw 2 TDs. Had 4 more turnovers by the D.

Week 14 @ Denver: Lost 25-28
Bought Receiver Discipline (HC), Improved Tackling (LBC).
4 Picks Thrown by us, and there was no way to win. You can't turn it over that much and expect to do something.

Week 15 Vs. San Diego: Lost 17-10
Even though my Defense is top 10 material this season, it won't matter if you can't put up more than 10 points a game.

Week 16 Vs. Miami: Won 31-6
Great game on both sides of the ball. 3 Passing, and 1 rushing TD, along with 5 sacks was a good performance.

Week 17 @ Cincinnati: Won 35-21
As you can tell, a good offensive day. We had 3 TD passes and 2 TD runs.

Re: Passing Attack Extraordinaire - A Chiefs dynasty

So you finished 9-7 the first season. Did you make the playoffs? I finished 10-6 my first year with the Falcons and missed making the playoffs.
