Re: Change in Chicago-The Coaching Career of Michael Smith

2010 Super Bowl-Bears 86, Patriots 14

We're not this good, and the Patriots aren't this bad. 1000 games with the Patriots, and you might get 1 game like this. They couldn't stop the run, couldn't stop the pass, and had no pass rush. I'll simply mark this one down as a freak occurence-I never expect to have a game against the Patriots like this again-Coach Smith finished with a 19-0 record for 2009-I like that most of the games were competitive though.

CU-HC-Playcall 4, OC-Lrn Dev OL 3, DC-Strength Training, STC-Playcall 3, DBC-Team Chemistry 3.

Coaching changes:

First- Patriots STC Jim Caldwell retired after the game-I wonder if it was because of the loss. I've never seen him retire this early

Bears coaching changes- I fired DC Ron Rivera and promoted LBC Gary Gibbs to DC. I then hired LBC Tedy Bruschi as LBC-the Patriots hired Rivera as their STC.

LBC Tedy Bruschi-Loyalist-Overall 39
TC 1/2, PC 1/2, Str 1/2, Performance 3/5.
All dev 4/5, No SS.

Final Coaching changes:

QBC Craig Johnson-Titans retired.
DC Dick Lebeau retired.
Steelers promote Keith Butler to DC.

2010 Draft-Round 1

C.C. Beachum went first overall to the Ravens. The Raiders made the move of the draft by trading up 1 spot to 1-5 to grab the premier left tackle, Travian Davis, while the Lions made a mistake in letting them do it. It was the only trade in the draft. Everyone tried to trade down in the bottom half, but no one was willing to accept trading up.

Trades:

Lions trade 1-5 to Raiders for 1-6, 2011 3rd, and 2011 6th.
