Re: Believing In Buffalo-An NFL Head Coach 09 Dynasty

The Bills have traded WR Lee Evans to the Raiders for the 198th pick in this years draft, and for their 2009 1st round pick. They selected Lee as the 7th overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft. It is painful to see happen, but it was a deal that they couldn't pass up, esp. because Lee didn't fit well into coach Plum's new offensive scheme.
They have also traded MLB John DiGiorgio to the Colts for the 190th and 221st picks in this years draft.
They have also traded HB Dwayne Wright to the Browns for the 184th and the 216th picks in this years draft.

The Bills seem to like dealing with the Raiders and Al Davis, because they have traded backup runningback Fred Jackson for a 2009 2nd round pick and a 2009 5th round pick. They now have the Raiders' 2009 1st, 2nd, and 5th round picks.

The Bills have aquired another big name target for Philip Rivers. They have traded for WR Marques Colston for the Saints. They will be giving up QB Trent Edwards, and 2009 3rd and 4th round picks. Marques is a big, athletic wide receiver that cathces anything that comes his way.

The Bills have aquired another big play receiver in WR Calvin Johnson. He is a 6 and 1/2 foot receiver with some of the best speed and quickness in the NFL. The Bills only had to give the Lions LE Ryan Denney, RG Brad Butler, and the 173rd pick in this years draft. The Bills now have Marques Colston as the big posession receiver, they have Calvin Johnson as the big receiver that can blow the top off of the defense, and they have Jason Witten as the big, consistent pass catcher at tight end.

The Bills have aquired a pair of brothers after the trade for RG Shawn Andrews. They only had to give up the 41st pick in the draft and a 2nd round pick next year. They now have two All-Pro guards in the Andrews brothers, two All-Pro tackles in Jordan Gross and Jason Peters. That is 4 All-Pro Offensive Linemen. They will have the top rushing attack in the league! Also, their franchise quarterback Philip Rivers will now never hit the ground!
4/3/08
The Bills trade FS George Wilson to the Steelers for the 151st pick and their 2009 7th rond pick.

It's draft time and the Bills are on the clock with the 11th overall pick. This just in, they have made their selection, and here is Roger Goodell to announce the pick:
"With the 11th pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills have selected... Vernon Gholston, Defensive End out of Ohio State University."
Todd McShay: "No prospect at this or any other position in the draft has more upside than Gholston. The 6-foot-3, 266-pound defensive end ran a 4.67 40-yard dash, and showed excellent upper-body strength at the NFL scouting combine. He's also athletic enough to move to outside linebacker in a 3-4 scheme. However, he is a boom-or-bust prospect. He's just not as consistent on film as a player with his talents should be. If he works out, he will be a great pickup for the Bills.

Todd McShay's Important Points:
* Miami thinks that they have found their franchise QB in Matt Ryan, but I think that they would have been better drafting Jake Long with the first pick to protect their quarterback's blind side and to open up holes in the run game. They could have gotten a better bargin with Andre Woodson of of Kentucky.
*Chris Long will follow his Hall-of-Fame father's footsteps in Oakland. Can he live up to the challenge?
*The Chiefs had a great day 1, getting value pick Jake Long, grabbing corner Mike Jenkins, and getting Quentin Groves in round 2.
Re: Believing In Buffalo-An NFL Head Coach 09 Dynasty
Wow-not sure I would have used a 1st round pick on Gholston. If you miss out on Rivers, David Vobora will work out just as well. I actually had him make the Pro Bowl his 2nd year in the league
