Re: Michigan Basketball

Next man up. An offseason for Walton, LeVert, Irvin, Spike, and company to improve. Horford becomes the next Morgan, Doyle & Chatman enter the mix, Beilein continues to be brilliant and Michigan will be fine.

Re: Michigan Basketball

It would take a quantum leap for Horford to be what Morgan was this year. Horford got worse as this season went on, and was exclusively responsible for three of Lee's putbacks and another dunk by Poythress because he simply stood there instead of boxing out. He was dreadful. And Morgan, for all the problems he had over his career with his hands.....Horford might as well have stumps at the end of his arms, that's how much of a step down he is from Morgan in terms of ballhandling.

Michigan either needs McGary to come back, or Donnal to make all the buzz he's received from practice translate onto the floor. If Horford is the starter next year, that's a problem. It was like playing with four players on the floor when he played today. Made the laughable, bull**** fouls on Morgan all the worse.

Re: Michigan Basketball

Horford sucks, worse than Morgan sucked most of his career until finally getting it together late this year, but I peg him as the replacement "senior guy" that finally does the same thing Morgan did & become at least serviceable.

I've got Irvin stepping it up next year along with LeVert. It seems every year with Beilein a guy or two, usually some unheralded guy, takes it up a notch and becomes an all-conference player. He's turning guys like Burke & Stauskas into 1st round/Lottery NBA talent.

Plus Donnal should crack the rotation and I wanna see what he can do, I remember Beilein making a Bill Laimbeer comparison once

I'm just saying, it's gonna suck if all three of those guys leave, and I'm pretty much expecting it, but if not I wouldn't call the cupboard bare.

Re: Michigan Basketball

I see this year being how the football team was in '11; Overachieved more than anyone would've guessed.

I don't think the drop off will be that bad with Levert, Irvin, Spike, and Walton. Obviously Donnal is the wildcard.

Re: Michigan Basketball

Well... so much for my Horford prediction, he plans to transfer apparently.

Not a member of attrition I was expecting, maybe a sign McGary is staying?

Wow...that is a really odd decision. Where is he transferring to?

He hasn't decided yet, but clearly he wants to go somewhere with a coach that features bigs.
