You were right about defense though. And he fixed it by realizing he wasn't good at teaching it and bringing in someone who can. I mean even Duncan Robinson is decent at it now!

you're not alone, I posted this one about 6 weeks or so ago:

Then, in the 2nd half, when basketball happens, the big lead shrunk, as it always does, Michigan had to take out both starting guards because neither can shoot FTs. Credit to Wisconsin for saying **** it and doing the whack a wolverine strategy.

There is no way this is a deep tournament team. Who else has to take BOTH guards out because neither can hit FTs? The minute Michigan faces any adversity in late games they're ****ed. But at least we'll get more moments of announcers clamoring over how similar Jordan Poole and Ibi Watson look while they sub in for FTs
oops

Come to think of it, he's gotta be like 65, and considering the likelihood of an impending rebuild for the Pistons, that might not be a good match.

Anyway, that would be a bummer for Michigan to lose him, but I'd figure this to be more of a leverage play for his Michigan extension

•John Beilein, Michigan – $3,370,000 (9th)
•Archie Miller, Indiana – $3,200,000 (10th)
•Brad Underwood, Illinois – $2,755,450 (18th)
•Mark Turgeon, Maryland – $2,700,915 (20th)
•Matt Painter, Purdue – $2,478,795 (29th)
•Tim Miles, Nebraska – $2,250,080 (33rd)
•Greg Gard, Wisconsin – $2,250,000 (34th)
•Fran McCaffery, Iowa – $2,225,000 (37th)
•Richard Pitino, Minnesota – $1,957,753 (49th)

Re: Michigan Basketball

This team might actually end up being better than last year's team - even if they don't go to the Final Four, which is never very likely. So good on both ends of the court.

Re: Michigan Basketball

Free throws and maybe consistent scoring through the offense are my only concerns. But, man, watching them defend is fun as ****.
