Re: 2017 NIT Discussion Thread

This year’s NIT will also serve as a testing ground for some new NCAA basketball rules. The tournament will put the following changes in place — and if they’re deemed successful, they could be a part of the game in 2017-18 and beyond.

Each half will be broken into two 10-minute segments.

Team fouls reset at the end of each 10-minute segment.

Teams can accrue four fouls per segment before going into the bonus.

Each additional foul will result in the double bonus (two free throws).

In overtime, the foul limit drops from four to three.

When a dead-ball stoppage results in an inbound play from the possessing team’s front court, the shot clock will be reduced from 30 to 20 seconds.

UT Arlington and BYU looks interesting. I also am intrigued by the 1-8 Illinois State vs. UC Irvine. The Eaters are a good team.

Yeah UTA is good. Scott Cross has done wonders there.

You can't spell NIT without Andy Kennedy. Maybe you can but it's his 7 NIT in 12 years of coaching. They knocked off Syracuse today.

Re: 2017 NIT Discussion Thread

Was at the Iowa/TCU game yesterday and the sellout crowd was fantastic. If Iowa could have just made their free throws and played better defense in the first half they would have won.

Lots of people were complaining about some Euro-steps given to TCU on some scoring plays and the flagrant one called on Iowa near the end of regulation but in all honesty Iowa wins if they hit their free throws.

The future looks brought for the Hawkeyes however. They will miss Jok but they have a lot of young guys who played amazing this season.
