Re: 2018 Coaching Carousel Thread

Now who gets the X job?
I would go after Pat Kelcey if I was them.
Ex X player and has done well at Winthrop.

Word is Travis Steele is the front runner.
He is Mack top assistant.

Two names I keep hearing here in Cincy are Thad Motta and Loyola's coach.
It wont be Loyola's coach. X tends to promote from within or and wont break the bank for an outsider.
I don't see it being Matta either. Word is the people in charge at X have no interest in bringing him back.

Tubby Smith to High Point.

The man loves to coach, I'll give him that.

So Matta's name keeps getting floated around with jobs, is he actually going to coach a team or what?

Seems like a good hire, I'm just a bit worried about his loyalty. He's a North Carolina native and Duke alum how much longer do you think 71 year-old Coach K (I'm not trying to spell his last name) will coach.

Re: 2018 Coaching Carousel Thread

Chris Mack to be introduced this afternoon.

I don't know what type of success he'll have here at Louisville, but one thing is for sure, his hiring has been a shot in the arm to a fanbase that has been put through the wringer the last several months.

Hoping he is able to keep the current roster in place and hopefully he'll flip a recruit or two from Xavier to UofL.

Also curious to see if he goes hard after Courtney Ramey.

Re: 2018 Coaching Carousel Thread

Rumors are flying here in Connecticut. Rhode Island head coach Dan Hurley seems to have the inside track for the UConn job....I haven't heard of any other major candidates. The question is, will Hurley make the jump, or won't he? And could he possibly take the Pittsburgh job instead? Haven't heard much news on this lately....will keep you posted.

Seeing that Pitt has gone with Capel, that leaves the UConn job wide open for Dan Hurley....if he wants it. :: hopes for good news ::
