Yeah I don't see that happening at all, no way SJU goes after Pitino.

Especially when he made a comment during an interview that while he could lead St.John's back to the promised land, before he'd take the job the Southern District of New York, or someone along those lines, would have to apologize to him for his name being linked to the Adidas scandal report.

He needs to just shut up and go away.

Word here in Cincy is Pat Kelsey is the top choice for the NKU job.
I think Brennen is going to do great at Cincinnati, I think he is twice the coach Cronin is.
IMO UC is lucky Cronin left.

I am absolutely stunned that Beilien is gone at Michigan.
Leaving for the NBA at 66? And taking over the CAVS.

Yeah my buddy texted me this and I thought he was BS'ing.

Looked online and sure enough.

I don't get this....from any perspective.

Re: 2019 Coaching Carousel Thread

From the Cavs' perspective I get it; there is the link with the assistant GM and the Cavs were looking for someone who can develop young talent and who runs a modern offense. Beilein checks those boxes.

As far as Beilein? I'm not sure. After the second finals appearance, he had a job for life and Michigan can afford to pay him whatever he wants. A new challenge maybe?

Lavall Jordan or Luke Yaklich seem like the obvious replacements if Michigan decides to not go big game hunting.

Re: 2019 Coaching Carousel Thread

For some reason, Chris Beard is the "favorite" to take the job according to Odds Shark.

Sure, let's just ignore the HUGE extension he just signed.

Re: 2019 Coaching Carousel Thread

I completely understand Beilein's decision. It's going to be his last job. Why wouldn't you want to reach the pinnacle of your profession? Sure, it could end in disaster, but he'll get paid either way and ride off into the sunset. Good for him! I think everyone knew this was a possibility after he had tested the waters with the Pistons last year.

Looks like Michigan is going to hire Juwan Howard. Bit of a risk, but I always liked him. I'm expecting nothing with all the departures, so hopefully he can stabilize things quickly. Could now have an in on the Chicago area, which is nice.
