Sounds like its time to pour a 40 out on the curb. Sad development indeed. At least Herbstreet will be allowed around campus again. lol.

The early line has Boise as 4.5 point favorites. I thought it would be a pickem. I see the Ducks winning this one by 10+.
Thoughts?

I said it in another thread, it all depends on how the o-line has come together during fall camp. There is a lot of experience across the line and offensive linemen have always been well-prepared on this team. If that unit is solid from day one, yes 10+ point victory.

I also think (and hope) that schematically the defense will be better, and the new d-line coach, and actually having three real LB's for the first time in forever should be a huge help to that.

Sounds like Cliff Harris has gotten the green light from the Clearinghouse for you guys. Huge pickup, he should become a star.

Re: Quack Attack - 2009 Oregon Ducks Official Thread

Awesome news about Harris. Agreed that I hope he can stay out of trouble.

Oregon will probably never win the Fulmer Cup, but they are underrated when it comes to bonehead players doing bonehead things.

Can't believe kickoff is one week from today.

From the sounds of things, the closed scrimmage went well. We might actually have a decent defensive line this year. Masoli has apparently improved, James has been lights out running the ball, and Blount as we know will be ready once the game starts.

The offensive line is still an unknown, but we will know where it stands almost immediately on Thursday night. We do know how well-coached o-linemen in the program are so I think it is fair to expect at least similar production to last year in the running game.

Looks like it's going to be Holland and Tuinei at WR. Masoli has apparently developed a chemistry with Tuinei (who is exceptionally tall), and Tuinei has also impressed with his hands and aggressive blocking in fall camp.

I'm just hoping that Oregon can execute. If they do they should overwhelm Boise St with their pace and size on offense.

Defensively, I don't know. Apparently more of a swarm mentality has been implemented and it's going to be less up to defensive backs to make defensive stops with plays on the ball. Still, don't we hear something is changed with the defense every year and it always ends up looking the same? Here's to Aliotti's last year, hopefully.
