Who's going to be the go to guy in the WR corps without Shipley?

looks like kirkendoll or hales in the slot, they're under center a TON this year, and hardly running with the qb

Interesting, it used to be that the "spread" teams were unique and difficult to prepare for. Now they're the norm and the teams that work under center are more unique. That could work.

So much of the offense went through Shipley last year, so I'd say that's a concern.

we also have a tight end to throw to this year as well, forgot his name, he's number 83 or 84 but he showed good burst, we'll be pretty good this next year, offense seems more explosive, a lot more weapons

Re: 2010 Texas Longhorns team thread

I dont think the offense is going to be the same as last year. Gilbert wont need a WR to catch 13 5yd passes on one drive. Texas will be running out of power formations and if they commit to running the football that should open up big PA passes for Gilbert. He made some deeper throws in the game today that Colt would have probably looked off running the offense they ran last season.

Also, I think Texas' success next year depends more on their defense(their strength at this point) than their offense.

Chris Whaley looked GOOOODDDDDD. 6'3" 245 of muscle and showed amazing speed and burst for his size. When he got bottled up due to bad blocking, it always seemed like he got that extra yard or two back by falling forward.

I am going to be really pissed off if we don't have an elite back emerge this year. Jeremy Hills also looked really good after doing nothing since his arrival.
