Re: 2010 Alabama Crimson Tide

Changes could be coming to SEC schedule

There’s a reason the SEC hasn’t released the league schedule for the 2010 season.

Quote:
That’s because some games could be switching dates.

Charles Bloom, an SEC associate commissioner, said Thursday that the league is trying to provide some relief for Alabama so that the Crimson Tide won't have to play six of their eight conference games next season when the opponent is coming off a bye week.

As it stands now, Alabama’s final six SEC opponents during the 2010 season are scheduled to have bye weeks prior to facing the Crimson Tide.

Those six teams are South Carolina, Ole Miss, Tennessee, LSU, Mississippi State and Auburn.
GOOD. That was the main thing that had me a little nervous about the schedule this year.

I really couldn't care less what the barners are saying. Until their team wins a National Championship in the modern era of college football they are irrelevant. Nothing has been more amusing than looking at the sour expressions of the Auburn fans that I know who have had to witness Alabama win another National Championship. How sweet it is!

Re: 2010 Alabama Crimson Tide

Of course some will complain but I imagine the more intelligent fans would be for this. They would know that this could happen to their team as easily as it happened to Alabama, and quite honestly, it sucks.

The SEC schedule is tough enough without giving every opponent a competitive edge by having an extra week of rest and preparation just for you, especially those opponents whose seasons are made or broken based on how they perform against you specifically.
